The room was noisy, but it no longer seemed that way. The sound that reached my ears was distant, like someone was yelling at me through a tunnel. My eyes had been itching, but now they were stinging. With each new breath came another gulp of inconsistent, but at the moment fulfilling, sense of comfort that had taken the form of the liquid commonly known as beer. I liked the feeling of it trickling down my throat, and the long-lasting bitter taste that stayed on my tongue even after the bottle was drained dry.
My fingers tapped on the empty green-brown bottle that now served no purpose to me. My eyes watched the rim of the bottle where a single drop of condensation lingered. I dropped the bottle onto the counter with a loud bang. This caused the dark haired bartender to glance up from his phone, and fix his light green eyes on me.
"Hey mate. I think you've had enough of that poison today. You need me to call anyone?"
Normally the question would have been polite, and not many people would have a smart ass or rude comment to retort. But in my drunken state the man's attention was very much unwanted and I wasn't in a very good mood for talking.
"Fuck off!"
To my surprise, the bar tender did as he was told and stepped off to chat with a young blonde man who looked as cheerful as a kid who had just been gifted a brand new bike for his birthday. The two talked for a minute or two before the blonde stood up. He waved at me energetically and began walking over to where I sat. I groaned. Wasn't it obvious that I wanted to be alone right now? That is what I came here for in the first place.
As the man approached i could see the bar tender hiding his face on the counter and, im not sure, but I'm pretty positive he was blushing. I smiled at the thought. Crazy little bloke!
"Hi I'm, Niall!"
His hair, even though it was messy and could use a bit of combing, was actually pretty adorable. It looked soft. Probably a great place to run your hands through in the middle of a heated make-out session.
"Did you hear me, man?"
He lifted his head and even though he tried to hide it i could still see the smile that crossed his lips when our eyes met. Did I really come here to be alone? Clearly it was fate finally being on my side for once. Clearly it was the great God above rewarding me for giving that homeless man $10 last week.
And here I was. One mysterious green-eyed beauty, and one interested blue-eyed teenager, face to face, eye to eye, but still separated by the retched counter.
"EARTH TO STRANGER! DO YOU COPY?"
I chuckled which turned into a hiccup and laid my eyes on the boy who had introduced himself as Niall.
"I'm Louis." I stated. "Your friends pretty cute."
Niall gasped dramatically.
"IT SPEAKS!"
"Of course i did shit face!" I snapped, landing a playful punch on his shoulder. "Now take me to your hot buddy."
Niall laughed, "I'm sure he would like that."
I staggered after Niall and sat in the spiny bar stool that was in front of the counter the bar tender was working behind.
"Hey sexy."
He lifted his head "I see you've had a change in heart."
"Yeah whatever just get over here so i could see those dirty hips of yours." I grabbed at his hand but he pulled it away.
"Don't move. I'll be right back." He stated before walking away.
My jaw dropped and i looked over at Niall only to find that he wasn't there anymore. Well this ended good. I slumped over in my stool and swung my feet lazily.
