Chapter 6: Tossing and turning

Eleven

I can't sleep.

It seems impossible.

Perhaps it was impossible.

He was all that I could possible think of.

Mike, it was him. I had finally found him, after all this time. I don't even know how long it's been since I heard his voice. I still remember everything about him, I remember it clear as day. I couldn't help but wonder if he remembered every little small detail about me.

The way he would get so protective.

The way he would never give up on me.

The way he would always stick up for me.

I remember the cute little dots gathered on his nose.

I remember how well he treated me and looked after me.

I even remember the way he smells.

I miss him, I miss him so much. I have to get to him. I can't sleep, I can't seem to settle. Restlessly, I turn onto my other side in the blanket fort, this will never work. I can't sleep, I need to see him. Slowly, I dragged myself from the bed and made my way out the door. It was then that I realised that I couldn't spend another second in this awful place. I had to get out, now.

Besides, if there's a way in, then there has to be a way out.

As I approached the gloomy woods, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a few seconds in the process.

You can do this, El, for Mike.

I exhaled deeply and took a step forward. I hesitated for a second before shaking my head and more confidently striding forward. There's nothing in these woods, its just all in my head. I need to focus on one thing right now, and one thing only.

Finding a way out.

This is kinda bad but you know I'm trying, this is my first book remember :)

The next chapter will hopefully be a bit longer than previous chapters, can ya guess why?

(I haven't proof read this chapter, I apologise for any errors that may be in this)
