Chapter 32

{Shane's POV}

He walked out the door and left me alone with the list.

It was 8.45 now.

'Shower.' I checked the list.

Well I guess that's what I'm doing. I've never worked with a list before..

After taking a shower I had to straighten my hair.

Looking at the list I noticed how weird Joey's handwriting was. I could barely read it and-

"Ouch fuck!"

I burned my hair. Then I saw there missed a lock in the middle of my swoop.

That's gonna be a beanie for me. I was about to put on a baseball-tee when I noticed it was gone. I quickly put on my brown pants and one of Joey's tank tops that lay on the floor. A black one with 'boy' on it.

'Sawyer is there all day.' Joey said, right?

Once I got downstairs I walked into a totally frustrated Sawyer editing a video.

"Ey." I said, not wanting to get Sawyer to explode.

"Oh hey." He said turning away from his desk.

"Joey.. Err.. Told me to ask advise on my clothing. But I see you're busy with other things."

"You've got a blue baseball-tee with red sleeves, right? I should wear that." He said, looking at my pants.

"Thanks man.. Have you seen it maybe?"

"I saw it last time when I washed all your clothes. I believe Joey put it outside to dry."

"Thanks!" I answered.

In the little garden I found 6 of my shirts, hanging in a line. The baseball-tee was ready to wear.

I pulled the tank-top over my head and threw on my own shirt. Awesome.

I realized how uninterested I was towards Sawyer and his editing and decided to go back to him.

He had moved to the kitchen, where he stood, pouring milk on cereal.

"Looking good now! And.. Joey asked me to make you cereal. I don't exactly know why. Here. Eat it!" He smiled while handing me the bowl.

I sat down at the bar and ate. Sawyer sat with me.

"So what were you doing? When I walked in?" I said with my mouth still full.

Rude me.

Sawyer explained how he had been editing a new short film for already 3 hours and how his PC crashed and everything he edited was gone.

"Oh.." I said, not knowing what else to say.

It went silent. It was an awkward silence.

"He really loves you, you know?" Sawyer said, staring into the air.

"What?" I was confused. Where did that come from?

"He really loves you."

"How do you mean?" I looked at Sawyer. And he looked back at me now.

"He's never nervous when he has to pick up his parents. Now he couldn't even eat, that nervous. And by the way I saw him making your list yesterday night. He never ever works with lists. And if you go and look in the trash can underneath his desk, you will find like 5 messed up versions of that list. He's giving his all just to be with you. Now it's your turn to return that favor, my friend. You have to make Joey's dad like you."
