Chapter 36
Demitri’s P.O.V
“Now boys, do any of you have an idea as to why you are all here?” I ask to the men of my gang. It’s been a little over a week since the deal with David was made and we decided it’s time to get rid of some unnecessary baggage.
“No,”
“No boss,” are the responses I receive.
“Huh, that’s strange isn’t it Carlos?” I turn to Carlos, who is beside me. He stands straight with his arms folded. He shrugs in response, “You know what, that is strange. I mean someone is bound to know.”
“You know, you have a point. Alright, I am going to pick someone at random and they come out here.” I look around, searching for the one person who does know.
“Uh Daniel.” I point him out. His eyes go wide and he gulps.
I beckon him to come over and stand next to us with my hands. He reluctantly takes the steps, leading him beside me.
“Now,” I start as I turn my face to look at him properly, “do you have any idea why we called this meeting here?”
Sweat drips down his temple as he shakes his head and answers, “No boss, I don’t.”
“Oh okay,” I say before swinging my fist back and punching him hard in the jaw. My tight fist makes contact with his hard jaw, causing a sickening crack.
Daniel stumbles back with a groan as his hand reaches up to cup his probably broken jaw. “Tell me Daniel, DO YOU NOW WANT TO TELL ME WHY WE ARE HERE?” I shout at his held back form, Carlos, gripping his arms tight.
“You see,” I turn to the men in front of me, “what is one thing I ask from you all? One of the most important things.”
A few people shout, “Loyalty, boss.”
“Ah now, there are logical minds. Loyalty.” I clap my hands and turn to Daniel who is trembling slightly from fear.
“Now Daniel, anything you want to tell my brother and I?” Silence comes from him causing my anger to rise. “Carlos, your turn.”
Carlos sinisterly grins, he shoves Daniel, causing him to stumble. Carlos swings back and punches him hard on his face, a sickening crack echoes throughout the small and old room used for such things.
Daniel instantly brings his hands to his bloody nose, Carlos takes this opportunity to punch him in the gut, and Daniel’s slightly beaten body doubles over.
He spits blood onto the floor and groans in pain.
“So, I bet you are all wondering why Daniel is getting a beating. Our Danny boy here has been selling information to the Tomson gang. The very gang that threatened our fiancé’s, this gang, and us.” Carlos announces.
Everyone in the gang become appalled, some even lean over and spit on Daniel’s lying body.
“IF we ever find out ANY of you are rats in this gang, I will kill you with my own two hands. I guarantee that. We will not tolerate any of this behaviour whatsoever. AM I CLEAR?” I threaten, making sure to look into the eyes of every one of my gang members.
