Chapter One
I was running and there it was. The apartment where Percy and his Mom lived. Percy is my best friend since last year and, well, I missed him like crazy. Here you go. I admitted it. But that's not the point. The point is way more complicated.
See, there's this camp, Camp Half-Blood. It's the only safe place for children like me. Or Percy. We are Half-Bloods, which means that one parent is a god. A greek, ancient, idiotic, not-caring, at most times useless, god. Mom would kill me for thinking that. My mom is Athena, goddess of wisdom. Yeah. Luckily, it's not Aphrodite or somegod like that.
Well, back to the present/past. I had had those weird dreams about camp. Thalia's tree had been in danger or something like that. Thalia had been my best friend until she turned herself into a tree when she was dying. And that's why I hate cyclops's. Thalia died because that damn one-eyed hungry idiot stopped us on our way to camp. That had happened when I had been seven. I still had those freaking nightmares.
I wanted to pick up Percy after his last day of school and go to camp with him. I quietly opened Percy's window, of course after putting on my invisibility cap, a gift from Athena.
There he was, lying in his bed. His black hair was ruffled and his feet were looking out of his blanket. Literally. He had those socks with eye-patterns on them. Had he never heard the rule of putting off socks befrore sleep? Seaweed brain. I slowly put the blanket back on his feet, blushing. Then, suddenly, he moved in sleep. He murmured something, like, Grover, help! I leaned closer and my hair tickled his cheek. Slowly, his eyes opened. I quickly stepped back, trying to control my blush. Uh-oh!
