I woke up this morning to my phones annoying alarm clock. Groaning I got out of bed to get dressed. The closet was full of clothes that haven't been touched for years. I searched through them trying to find something decent. I found a blue dress that looked like it was my size.
After I got dressed I walked over to the table and grabbed the stale bread and a water bottle out of the fridge. Which did a very poor job at keeping the water cold. So I was basically eating stale bread and drinking room temperature water.
I was sitting on the bed reading one of the books on the nightstand. I chose to read Maze Runner. The room became very cold as soon as Emma opened the door. She asked if I was ready to go. I told her I didn't think she would show up. She thought about it obviously because yesterday she was set on not going. I told her it was only 9:30 and we weren't going to leave until 10:00. She asked what's the point of waiting and I said dramatically in her face okay let's go. We grabbed the loaf of bread, 6 water bottles, a blanket, a marker, and a few candles with matches.
We started walking towards the undiscovered part of the map. It had many twisty tunnels that were confusing us. It was kind of like one of those mazes that you played with as a child. I grabbed the marker and started drawing a line towards the undiscovered spot.
It took me a while to figure out where we were at but Emma helped me a lot. We started walking towards the spot and we came upon many tunnels that split two or three ways. We walked down the paths that we drew out and we came across a door. The door was very dirty and it looked like a light was on inside.
Emma kept telling me to open it but I couldn't stop hesitating. She slowly opened the door unarmed which probably wasn't a good idea. I sat on the other side of the tunnel and ate the bread while she walked in the room.
I followed her into the small cottage like room. There were signs of life everywhere and then we heard a noise from the bathroom. The door opened and a small dwarf like person walked out. I threw the stale bread at him and he screamed. He sounded like a dwarf from Snow White. It was really cute. Emma couldn't stop laughing so I slapped her in the arm. She asked what that was for. I snapped at her to stop laughing at him. He asked what we were doing in his home. I told him we are looking for a way to get out of this tunnel complex. He said oh no no no please do not try to leave this place you will most certainly die. I told him that we would die if we didn't leave because we don't have food or food homes. He told us we could stay there but we refused. He said at least for one night it's very cold out in the tunnels right now and if you get sick that wouldn't end well. He said his name was Casnar. I told him my name was Sophia and Emma told him her name. He said you girls have very lovely names. He gave us food and we went to sleep for only a few hours.
Casnar was awake when we got up and he insisted on coming with us because he knows the way around the tunnels. We asked him if he's ever been to the unexplored part of the map and he said no no no that place is very dangerous. I asked him why and he said because legend says there are cameras and traps everywhere. Emma said see Sophia I told! I told them well we are going I don't care what you guys say this could be our only way out.
We continued walking our path and it seemed like we were walking forever. Then suddenly out of nowhere water started to flood the tunnel.
