"Kat! Get down here! Our guests will be here any minute," my mother yelled from the bottom of the steps.
"Coming mom," I yelled walking out the door in yoga pants and an old sweater.
"Katherine Danielle! I told you when you got home to look classy when they arrived, not like some lump on a log! Now you march yourself back to that room this instant and change," she yelled at me as I stood at the top of the steps.
"Fine," I grumbled as I walked into my room. I hate dressing up for guests; they aren't that special. It's not like I'm meeting the royal family.
I went through my closet and found an outfit I thought was suitable.
I laid out the floral dress and brown heels and went to look for jewelry. I found my diamond blue earrings and put them on. I grabbed my silver bracelet and put it on.
I looked at my nails and cringed. They were all chipped and faded. That was one of my pet peeves, ugly nails. Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt to put a quick coat over them. I better get dressed first.
I hurriedly grabbed the dress and shoes and slipped them on. I walked over to my makeup vanity and looked at my hair.
Glad I decided to curl it this morning. I thought as I braided some of it in the back. I grabbed my rose clip and placed it neatly in the back.
Makeup time. I cheered in my head. Most like every other teenage girl, makeup was my shield. It made me feel better about the small insecurities about myself. Granted I never over did it to were I looked like I belonged in the circus.
I went for the natural look but I did use some blue eyeshadow to make my eyes pop.
Knock. Knock.
I guess the guests are here.
"Hello Charles and Vanessa! What a pleasure it is to see you again," My dad ranted.
"Yes it is a pleasure to see you again as well! I don't think you've met our son William," a deep voice said, Charles I believe was his name.
"Hello William," my parents said.
"Please, call me Liam," Liam said.
While I was listening to the conversation. I grabbed some brown Essie nail polish and applied it.
"Where is Katherine," a feminine voice asked, that must be Vanessa.
"She's still getting ready, you know how teenage girls are," My mom said laughing.
"Oh, yes I remember those days," Vanessa laughed along with my mother.
"Well Liam, why don't you go get your future wife? She's in the first door on the left," my father said.
What hold up? Future wife... Nah I must of heard that wrong.
"Yes sir," Liam said as I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs.
Good thing I finished my nails.
I stood up and checked my self in my full length mirror.
Good for the little amount of time I had.
"Katherine," Liam said knocking on my door.
"Come in," I said grabbing my phone off the night stand.
I felt a blush creep up as I turned around.
He is FINE!
"Thank you," He smirked.
Did I say that out loud?
"Yes you did," He laughed.
"Um, lets go downstairs,"
I say trying to avoid the awkward silence.
"Whatever you say Cutie," He smirked as he saw my blush.
"Zip it," I muttered walking down stairs.
"By the way, they're gonna tell you some news that you may not like. So you have been warned. Don't worry though, I'll catch you if you faint," he winked as I turned to look at him.
"What kinda news," I asked eyeing him suspiciously. Now that I think about it, he looked faintly familiar.
"You'll see," he smirked again and walked to the dining room, where we heard laughter.
"Whatever," I muttered following him.
"Katherine, honey sit down," my mother instantly said pointing to a seat beside Liam's.
"Ok," I said eyeing her suspiciously.
"We're just gonna cut to the chase. You are marrying Liam," my father said all seriously.
"Sure I am," I said laughed.
"Yes you are. It's already decided. You will be the next Queen of Genova," my mom said with a serious face.
"Haha you guys are hilarious. Wow you almost had me at the Queen part," I say laughing.
"It's not a joke dear," Vanessa said.
"Wait, you guys are serious," I asked suddenly not feeling like laughing.
"We most certainly are," Charles spoke up.
"I WILL NOT MARRY HIM, YOU CANNOT FORCE ME TO BE QUEEN! I AM 17 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD," I yelled standing up.
"Karol, what do we do," Vanessa asked my mother.
"I don't know she's never acted this way before," my mother admitted.
She was right. I had never acted so outraged before. I had never even been mad at someone before, or at least shown it.
"Katherine, calm down," my dad said standing up.
"LIAM! TELL THEM THIS ISN'T RIGHT," I begged him.
"It's not like I have a say," Liam said.
"Katherine," my dad said making me snap.
"I hate you..," I whispered running away as tears fell.
"Katherine," my parents yelled as I ran towards the door.
"Don't worry Poppy and Victor will catch her," Charles said as I ran out the front door.
"Miss stop," a deep voice said once I got out the house. I saw a big black limo with the Royal crest with flags at the front.
"Miss this is your last warning," another deep voice said as I got to the driveway.
"I really wish we didn't have to do this," he said.
"Do what," I said as I felt a sharp pain in my leg.
"Miss," they yelled as I started to faint.
They tranquilized me!
Isn't that illegal! Well they are the royal guards after all, so I guess not for them.
"Don't worry boys, I got her," Liam said hovering over me.
"Liam," I said drowsily.
"Ya it's me Kat. You're fine," he said lifting me up.
"Thank y..," I started to say until I passed out.
