Mirror Mirror on the wall...

It's incredibly hard for some people to be happy with what they see in the mirror. You always have that little voice in the back of your head telling you that if you only had a slimmer nose your face would be perfect or if you had bigger eyes you would look more beautiful. You look at your skin and picture yourself without any blemishes or anything you view as an imperfection. What you fail to see is that life itself is just one big imperfection. Have you ever made plans for the day and two minutes later they are completely changed? Not always the best feeling but you accept it as a piece of life. The same way when you look at a mirror and don't see the fairest of them all don't be disheartened, no one is perfect. Not even the people you see online. There is a lot of interest in K-dramas and K-pop recently and many people seem fascinated with how the singers and actors look. I'll be the first to say that they are not bad looking but what I also acknowledge is that their looks aren't natural. These stars live a life that is based on perfecting their looks from an incredibly early age and virtually all of them have undergone plastic surgery to perfect their face and/or body at some point in their life. So you see they are not what they first appear on the screen. In the eyes of humanity no human can be perfect because what one human views as imperfection is perfection in the eyes of another. It's good to take care of your body and to try and look your best but remember to take care of your soul as well. True perfection lies there and it is this that you will present to your Lord. Don't strive to be perfect in the eyes of humanity, you've lost before you've even begun, strive in the eyes of the one who is perfection, Allah.  You'll find true happiness there and your very outlook on you will slowly change.
