Our first kiss was one to remember. The smooth skin of Sihtric's lips pressed against mine ever so softly. Passion, is one of the words that could be used to describe the moment, it's as if it was our last moment to live.

The rest of the week had gone by quickly. Everything was perfect, the pack, our lives, the future. My love for Sihtric has grown rapidly, I wanted to spend my life with this man. He treated me wonderfully, better than anyone has ever treated me before. I could honestly say that I loved him.

I was now in the kitchen, preparing a meal for Sihtric and I, sandwiches and a salad when the front door burst open.

"Luna," The guard in-front me bowed his head before continuing. "I have a message for you, it was given to us at the gate by Alpha Malachi's warriors."

Nodding, I took the letter from his hand, admiring the royal stamp and cursive written on the front. I opened the envelope with the swipe of my index finger under the paper, revealing a folded piece of paper. Unfolding it, I read the boldly written words;

"Return to me or war will breakout...and I will win."

My head began to throb as I paced the kitchen. I couldn't possibly let anyone die for me, that was selfish. I want to stay with Sihtric, I am falling for him more and more every day, which was another reason why I couldn't let his pack fall. He takes pride in his pack, in his position and how far he's come. I will not be the one to make him lose everything.

I began to form plans of escape in my mind, the confusion of not knowing this pack taking a toll on my thought process. My body collided into a hard one as I paced. Forgetting that I was even doing that, I looked up into the blue pools of Sihtric, his face full of question and worry. I held the paper tightly in my hand, not allowing Sihtric to see my fate written in a letter.

"Read it." He demanded, his eyebrows creasing together.

"I-I uh, I can't." I choked back on my words only causing Sihtric to grab for the paper.

I dodged his large hand, frustration growing within his mood. My body trembled as his arms caged me against the cool, marble counter. The heat from his body settled my nerves, allowing my grip on the letter to loosen. Sihtric yanked the paper from my fingertips with a growl of his own, the look in his eyes daring me to defy him.

He held the letter above my head, our height difference playing in the situation. His jaw clenched and his eyes zeroed in on me, taking in my defeated facial expressions.

"And what were you planning on doing?" He asked in an angry tone, his Alpha side attempting to slide out.

I casted my gaze downward, the guilt consuming me. I felt terrible for thinking of leaving, but I'd rather this pack be safe than gone. I could save them all from this war, let them live in peace while I lived in horror.

The grip on my chin pulled me from my gaze. I could tell Sihtric was disgusted in me, his mate was weak, cowardice, and pathetic. I didn't even need to see his face to know that he couldn't deal with me, I could already feel it.

"I'm sorry," The crack of my voice filled the room along with my hushed cries. "I'm sorry for being a weak Mate and Luna. You deserve better."

Sihtric wrapped his two arms around my body while he laid his head on top of mine. "Never call yourself weak. You are thinking of the pack before yourself, and I couldn't be more proud to have you as my Mate and Luna."

I continued to cry in his chest, his hands rubbing circles along my back. We stayed like this, until my legs threatened to give out, even though Sihtric wouldn't allow me to fall. As if he knew, he began to pick me up, cradling me to his chest like a baby. He took long strides towards his office, pushing the heavy wooden doors open. Once he made it to his desk, he sat down with me still in his arms, grabbing a paper and pen.

His beautiful, cursive handwriting coated the paper, leaving my eyes to trail afterwards. I followed each letter with my eyes, letting the stroke of his hand exhaust me. My eyes grew heavy but I wanted to see what this letter was, so I fought against my sleepy state.

"Go to sleep love, I promise you will know about it in the morning." Sihtric's soft voice filled my ears, sending me into fatigue.

Before my eyes could shut fully, I read the last thing I could see, as it fueled worry within my bones.

"Let the war begin."
