"Alright, this should do the trick," I say to no one in particular. I swirl the clear, bubbling liquid in its test tube. "If this works, it could be the key to a breakthrough in modern medicine!"
I dim the lights in the lab and approach the beaker of the lime colored chemical. Slowly, i pour the contents of the test tube into the beaker and put on my safety goggles. The mixture starts bubbling and smoking, and my eyes widen as the chemicals spark.
"Fascinating..." I whisper to myself. I reach for the pen tucked behind my ear, grab my clipboard and take my goggles off, ready to take notes of the reaction. Suddenly, a deafening bang sounds within the room and im thrown backwards. Broken glass and chemicals fly everywhere, and I try to shield my face. It's too late, and pieces of glass along with the mixture scatter against my skin. Some of it gets into my eyes and I yell out in pain, covering them with my hands. I can feel blood flow freely down my face and i try to get up. I cant open my eyes and i feel cuts and burns all over my body. I scream for help and curse myself for not telling anyone that i was heading to the lab. The last thing i remember before passing out from pain is hearing the door hiss open and someone call my name.
