Chapter 1- intro (Kates P.O.V)

Love is great right? I mean it's all around us. Well that's what I thought. I thought love is great and so I was foolish enough to say yes when he asked me to marry him.

But even the wedding ring he gave me had a broken heart.

The day he left me and the twins for her was the day I stopped loving anyone that was not my kids.
Because they are the only people in this cruel world that deserve my love.
The twins are 17 and are going into their senior year of high school. That means college is next. I'm a little worried for Kyle (the boy twin) because he is not that... umm... social. Don't tell him this but he is kind of a nerd. A nice guy but a nerd. But I'm not complaining I'd rather have a nerd than a bad boy living under my roof. So I'm grateful for that.

Sophie though, is another story. She and Kyle are twins and they look alike with their olive skin and dirty blonde hair but they are very different.
Unlike her brother Sophie is bold and very social. She is a strong young woman and I'm very proud of her. I am truly proud of both of them. They have great academic scores, they are good people and never get in trouble. What better kids could I ask for.

I am Kate Wilson, a very successful business woman which I'm guessing is an influence on Sophie and that's one reason she has a strong personality.

We are a wealthy family, not very Very rich, but pretty wealthy because of my career.
