Chapter 5- Suprising Talent

Friday

I was in the Great Hall chilling with my Ravenclaw friends for lunch when Kyra rushed up behind be and she looked really excited.
"Guess what?" She said not waiting for an answer, "TODAY IS OUR FIRST FLYING LESSON!!!!" She screamed with excitement.
"Omg! YES!" I yelled. Then we both started jumping up and down squealing.
Then we hear a voice from behind us.
"What are you squealing about?" It was Samuel, he is now one of my friends who I hang out with from Ravenclaw.
"Well today is our first flying lesson AND it's with the Gryffindors!" I squealed.
"Wow" said Samuel who seemed to have forgotten about it. "Well that IS exciting! But please stop doing that weird girly squeal" he said shaking his head.
"What you mean this?" Said Kyra then we both started squealing again.
"I'm out of here!" Said Samuel covering his ears. We then dissolve into giggles.

After at 9:30 we all go outside with Madam Hooch waiting for us.
"Now students line up Ravenclaws one side and Gryffindors other side" She said. "Now before we start Headmistress McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and Professor Longbottom are coming down to see if any of you are worthy to try out for your house teams, so at the end we will play a mini game on the pitch"
We all looked around excitedly.
"Now put your hand over your broom and say UP"
We all copied and the broom flew straight into my hand. For others it took.. a bit longer, after we had all got the brooms in our hands we practiced going a little bit up then coming down.

"Very good class! Now we will play a mini game who would like to play?" Said Madam Hooch as she saw the three Professors coming over. A bunch of hand shot up and then she split us into two teams. She then gave us positions, Rose,a girl called Ella and I were chasers. Kyra was seeker. The Williams twins (Emma & Emily) were beaters and another girl called Louise was keeper.

As you can see it was girls vs boys. Once the boys team was set up Madam Hooch counted down.
"3..2..1 and... play!"
I swooped in and grabbed the Quaffle dodging Samuel as I did so. Then I passed to Rose who caught it and had to twirl to dodge a Gryfffindor called Noah Parker. Rose then was surrounded by the boys team so she dropped it from underneath her to Ella. I waited in front of the goals as Ella passed to me and I threw the ball into the goal.
"WOOHOO!" The girls team cheered it was 10-0 to the girls.

The game continued and then it was 60-20 the girls leading. A few minutes later a saw Kyra about a meter away from the snitch her hand outstretched. Then I saw Mason the boys seeker about 5 meters behind trying to catch up. Kyra was inches away from the snitch then... it was in her hand! The girls had won!!!!
Once we got to the ground we were all screaming, cheering and the boys looked positively depressed.
"Better luck next time!" Called Rose.

"Miss Thompson!" I heard McGonagall say. I quickly said bye to my friends and walked over hoping I was not in trouble.
"Yes Headmistress" I replied.
"Is that your first time playing? Mcgonagall asked.
"Yes but I've read a lot about it"
"Well you have some great talent and Professor Flitwick and I were wondering... if you want to play as chaser for the Ravenclaw team?"
My eyes widened.
"Of course! Thank you so much!" I hurried away to tell my friends.

"Really?!" Said Rose excitedly "First years never make the team!"
"Well this one does!" I said smiling.
"Did you make the team?" Said an impressed voice from behind, I realised it was Samuel.
"Yeah Sam, I did!" I replied. "Now to add my schulde I have training on every Monday night"
"Well you must be good, because they never just give people the spot without them trying out" said James who had just come up.
"Well you'll see the first game is in October and it's Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff!" I said.

Dinner

After dinner my Ravenclaw friends including Samuel and Lola all walked up to our common room. The girls in my dorm went to 'bed' not really actually they all wanted me to try wizard sweets because I'm the only muggleborn in our room.
I tried so many and we were really sleepy and we all went to bed....
