I. Am. Reborn. I was given a second chance at life; he gave me a second chance. I have to admit, I was terrified at what it meant to be a proxy but eventually I learned it wasn't all that bad. But...I still keep remembering that night. My best friends...turned insane, killing my whole family...nearly killing me. A small part of me was angry and infuriated with them for what they did, but overall I was glad to see them again-- even though they weren't the same people I knew back at Shady Cove.

It took me awhile to get use to everything at the mansion, especially getting used to everybody. Everyone was so different, so much that it irritated me to no point. Trying to get close with my old friends was like trying to befriend a stray, timid cat, but the most difficult one out of all of us was... Tim. He always gets angry at us when Slenderman gives us praise for a completed job done. Lack of sportsmanship, a lose cannon, and a ticking time bomb. Tim always stayed angry at Toby because he was now Slenderman's right hand. To add to it, Toby and Tim don't get along, not like they used to. Frankly everyone except Brian doesn't get along with Tim. He's just so...rebellious. Brian and Master Slenderman are the only ones who can talk Tim down. That made it harder for me being a proxy knowing I was in constant competition. But the thing about Tim is that when he became the new first proxy, he went to Brian, bringing him to Master Slenderman, corrupting him, making him...kill Layle and Maria... and the most unstable of all of us was Jeff.

Jeff...he was so unstable. After he was swept away in the psych ward, he broke out months later, killing 78 security guards, 13 receptionist, and 34 patients. Then he went to his house and went into his bathroom, cutting that gruesome smile into his cheeks and burning off his eyelids. His mom found him and was gonna call the psych ward again but he chased her into her bedroom, killing his mom and dad. Then he moved onto his brother's room, nearly killing him. Then he went to his neighbor's house and killed their daughter by burning her alive. God. He's like the wild man of us...I feared him just a bit.

Toby, he...he went home after he came to my house and his dad beat him. Toby locked himself in his room and went to counseling. It didn't work. His dad kept beating him until he snapped and killed him, leaving his mom to suffer by burning his house. He was about to step in and end it all, but he was stopped by Tim and Brian and they took him to Master. I wish I knew what happened to Toby....I wish I did...

The highlight of being a proxy was being together with Toby again. Where we left off was so frustrating. I don't think I told him that I loved him. I probably never will. Usually he'd give off small signs of affection to me. Always recommending to be by my side if we are stalking our target, hiding with me, helping me kill our victim, stuff like that. It was...amazing. Sometimes late at night, I'd stay up in my room and just stare out the window of the mansion. Looking into the dark, haunted woods and I'd have flash backs about my life, only the parts when things were going downhill and it make me sick until I'd fall on the floor, lightheaded and nauseous. And I'd wake up back to where it started and I'd relive that moment over and over and over and over again. It was torture.

Am I gonna have to deal with this for the rest of my life here?

One evening, I was sitting outside on the roof of the mansion just staring into the dark woods when I heard footsteps slowly behind me. It was Toby.

"Hey..." He said to me. I didn't answer.

"You can't be shy here, Christine, you know this."

The wind started picking up and I looked at him as he was staring out at the woods. On the outside, it was the Toby I remembered...but...it still wasn't. This Toby was vicious and never hesitated to slash any of his victims with his hatchets. It...wasn't the boy I loved...it was a different part of him that was hiding in there all along, waiting to come out. He was Tim: a ticking time bomb ready to explode on you at any moment.
