Barn Camp

Getting settled

I hear the front gate open. You know it is the front gate because it has the loudest screech ever. I grab my last bag out of the trunk of my dads new black truck. When I set my bag down I look to my right and see a gray van pull in. The door opens widely and two girls pop there heads out. It's Camy and Senica. They are my two best friends. We met here 5 years ago and has been friends ever sense. "Hey" I say with a huge smile across my face. "Good morning" Camy says as she jumps out of the van. Camy starts to put her bags on the cart with mine. I look in the car and see Senica laying down. "Sen. come on or we are going to be late" I say to her grabbing her by the legs and pulling her out of the car. She looks up and says with a yawn "It's to early for this" I laugh as she gets out of the car and gets her bags. We walk over to the sign in table. We signed up to do a whole month here. After we sign in we say good bye to our parents and walk to a different table. At this one we got our cabin name. The table next to us lets us pick who we want our horse to be. When we get there I chose Rose as my horse. I have ridden her every year. She is my favorite. I start to push our cart over to the fire place. That's where Camy, Senica and I all agreed to meet up after we signed in. Camy runs over yelling "Mustang cabin and I got Hope" The cabins are named after breeds of horses and Hope is her favorite. Senica walks over here clearly still tired and says "Mustang and Duke" with that she plops downs on the couch. We all got the same cabin! Yay! After what seemed like 5 hours we finally made it over to our cabin. There was a lady standing outside our cabin door. She is the room leader. Her name is Linsey. We have had her as our room leader for 4 years. So I mean you could say we have a right bound. When we open the door Emma runs over and pulls us into a tight hug making it hard for us to breathe. Emma rides with me at my barn back at home. We have become good friends. When we can finally breath again I look around, I see a new girl in our cabin. She looks about our age. "Hi" I say to her. She looks up at me and then back down to her journal. She starts to write. I just shrug and walk over to the bunks. I put my stuff on the bottom. Camy likes the top bunk. Emma also likes the top so senica gets the other bottom. I start to unpack. We each get a dresser and a cubby. I finally finished packing when someone starts shouting outside. We all run to the window, including the one girl. When I look out rose is running around outside. I turn around and run out side to help get her. I grab my lead rope on the way out and head towards her. She stops and puts her head down to eat grass. I slowly walk over and say "Hey girl, did you miss me? Ya well I'm here now so you don't have to worry. Oh and Rose, no more jumping the fences" I clip her halter and laugh a little. That's when a boy runs up. He is maybe my age. He looks nervous. He is wearing the stable work men cloths so I am guessing he works here. He comes up slowly. As he grabs my lead rope he smiles and says "There you are Rose, you have to stop jumping the fence" He starts to turn and then he notices me.
