Everybody in the house was scattered all over the place. Why? Summer break, that's why. Krista, my baby sister, wasn't helping.
She was throwing her crayons on the floor as if the evil wolf monsters were about to swallow her.
"GABE!" the devil- oops, I meant Beth screamed. And her? She's a maniac, sadly related to me. "YOUR STUPID LIZARD IS IN MY ROOM!"
I tossed my bag onto my shoulder, climbing the long stairway. "Where is he?" I ask, sliding my new Vans on. I saved enough money for it. Now I'm poor, and Krista had more money than me.
Beth pointed at Erk, my lizard. I gently put my hand under him before lifting him from her table. Her face twisted into a smug look. "Get out of my room or I'm telling Mom!" A bulb lightened up from my brain. "At least your mouth isn't sucking on another guy's..."
Yep, I got kicked out.
Vacation's going to be much worse.
