Chapter Two
Can we just leave already? Samantha asks complaining. I roll my eyes and cross my arms. She complains about everything. What are they doing?
A head count of who all is going. I answer back looking through the crowd of antsy and ecstatic teenagers ready to go on this trip.
Everyone is going. So why do they have to count? Just get the list from the office and call everyones name and if they dont respond then they are not here. Samantha complains.
Look, complaining about it isnt going to make them move faster. So just shut up and wait. She rolls her eyes and crosses her arms.
Whatever. Samantha responds with an attitude whiling glancing at a group of boys.
I continue to look around but stop when my eyes land on Anthony. He is looking good in them khaki shorts and a plain white t-shirt he is wearing. That shirt defines his muscles well. He is looking really good. I can just imagine myself kissing his perfect slightly pink lips and rubbing on his muscles. Gosh, I wish I was his type and popular. If I was I would be on his arm while he shows me off proudly to his friends and family. Sighing to myself, I know that would never happen. I am not rich, Im not small, and Im not pretty enough, so I cant always have what I want. I guess he can feel me stare so glances up and smiles at me. Embarrassed that I got caught staring at him, I just smile back. Veronica saw this little interaction and decides to show off. She wraps her arms around his waist and reaches up and kisses him. Not wanting to witness the man of my dreams kiss Satan, I turn and look away. It hurts to see him with her and to know I will never have a chance to be with him but she doesnt need to rub it in my face. I guess she feels somewhat intimidated by me. I mean, you only do that when you feel threatened by another woman coming in and taking your man. I smirk just at the thought of that. That will be awesome if I did intimidate Veronica. That means I can put her in her place.
After another hour of waiting we are finally loading on the buses and assigned chaperones that will be watching us and staying with us the whole trip. I am the first to get on a bus and go all the way to the back. Usually the popular kids take over the back of the bus but I wasnt about to let that happen. I am going to sit anywhere I want. Samantha and the rest of our group follow behind me and take their seats in the back. I plug my earphones in my ears and start playing my music. I am jamming to Chriss Brown playlist when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look up to see Veronica glaring down at me. I roll my eyes before giving her my undivided attention and pulling out one earphone.
Yes sirI mean maam, I smile sarcastically after I address her.
Youre sitting in our seats. You need to get up and move to the front of the bus with the nerds. She demands while pointing to the front of the bus. I glance down the aisle and saw everyone looking at us. Nodding, I glance back up at her before standing. Thinking that I was going to move, she steps aside but I prove her wrong. I start looking around on the seat and under it.
What are you doing retard? Veronica asks.
I stand back up and face her. I dont see your name on this seat or anyone elses unless your name is, Made in China. A few chuckles can be heard throughout the bus. Even Anthony cracks a smile.
Are you trying to be funny? Veronica says.
Did you hear a joke come out of my mouth? I could have sworn I said a sarcastic remark. I reply.
Just get up. You are in our seat. Veronica says while glaring at me.
I sit back down whiling crossing my arms. Nope, go find somewhere else to sit. These seats are taken. She was getting ready to charge at me but Anthony stands up and wraps his arm around her waist pulling her back.
