Lui was on a mission. He had the sniper aimed and loaded as he carefully watched his target. His finger smoother over the trigger, getting ready for the perfect moment to fire.
His client was just another fool that wanted his target gone without a trace. But since he refused to pay higher than 10,000, Lui simply decided to kill him.
One...
Two...
Three...
Bang!
The bullet hit its target immediately and Lui could see the body tense then fall dead. Done. People around the dead body screamed and panicked, running around like ants.
Lui only huffed and looked at his watch, watching the minutes tick by.
By the five minute mark, police and ambulance sirens were heard and Lui rolled his eyes at how fickle they were to respond.
Amateurs.
His watched beeped by six minutes and twenty nine seconds, and then he knew it was time to go.
Lui quickly packed up his sniper, and rushed down the parking lot building. Only, a car pulled up beside him.
The window rolled down only to reveal him. Daithe. His ex co worker.
"Need a getaway there, bud?"
"Go fuck your dog." Lui growled and walked a little faster. He heard Daithe laugh, and the car pulled up beside him, slowly rolling to keep up.
"No thanks. Your mum is all the dog I need to fuck." Daithe fired back. Lui stopped walking and quickly pulled out his handgun, aiming at the calm man in the car."I can blow your brains out. Right here and right now." The shorter of the two threatened. Daithe remained uninterested as he looked at his fingernails.
"Kinky."
"I mean it."
"Dude, I'm gonna hold up traffic an' someone gonna see yer gun. Get in the car. You couldn't pull that trigger even if someone handed you a million bucks." Daithe said. Lui wanted to pull the trigger but couldn't bring himself to, and just stormed to the other side of the car.
Daithe smirked to himself as Lui angrily threw his bag in the back seat, and crossed his arms, gun safely hidden on his body.
"That didn't last long."
"Why don't you shut up and drive, leprechaun?"
Daithe silently obeyed, driving out of the parking lot and around the city, just to throw possible cameras off.
The silence between the two was tense, but Daithe only hummed to himself quietly, despite Lui barking at him to shut up. Daithe then reverted to drumming his fingers on the wheel, which drove Lui crazier, but the assassin didn't utter a word.
Lui had dazed off, thinking to himself and about Daithe but perked up when he realized Daithe didn't turn for the secret underground building Lui worked in.
"Uh...where are you going?" Lui asked. Daithe only smirked and continued driving to wherever the hell he wanted to go; it pissed Lui off even more.
"Daithe, I swear to god. I will make you crash your pretty little car if you don't turn us back right now." Lui threatened once again, hand on the gun hidden on him.
"You won't."
"I will."
Daithe slowed the car, ignoring Lui, as he stopped in front of a ice cream truck.
A fucking ice cream truck.
Daithe gave Lui a toothy smile, then hopped out the car, casually walking towards the truck.
Lui growled and repeatedly cursed in his head, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor of the car. "That bastard..." He mumbled.
Daithe returned with two popsicles in his hand, and smiled at Lui even though the latter glared.
"What better way is there than celebrating a kill by with a treat?" Daithe asked. Lui only rolled his eyes.
"Counting money."
"Pfft, come on, my monkey. Don't ya want just one? It's cherry flavored..." Daithe teased. He held out the popsicle temptingly in front of Lui. The assassin scowled at the Popsicle before snatching it out of Daithe's hand and throwing it out the open window.
"Fuck your red popsicle. I'm not a kid." He said.
"Kinky." Daithe replied.
Lui rolled his eyes and glared at his ex. "Just drive me to my destination and stop stalling before I bust your fucking nuts."
Daithe raised an eyebrow, but started to drive anyway. Lui wouldn't kill him but he sure as hell would hurt him.
The ride was silent back to the disguised thrift shop, and Daithe smirked, placing his popsicle in Lui's hand.
"Just a parting gift. Never know. I could be dead the next time."
"Good riddance." Lui snorted, but only grabbed his duffle bag, popsicle in hand. He got out of the car, slamming the door, and storming to the thrift shop door.
"Hey Lui!"
Urgh, can't he leave me alone... Lui thought, but turned to the Irish man in the car. "What?"
"Hope we can meet up again sometime soon." Daithe said, before laughing and driving off.
"As if..." Lui whispered, and ignored his heart hammering in his chest. No crushes. He made that clear when he broke up with Daithe in the first place.
Watching Daithe's car disappear made Lui's heart twist, but he only scoffed and stormed inside.
He was still holding the popsicle.
Even when Lui had messaged his client that the victim was dead, he held the melting popsicle. He refused to let go but he also refused to eat it.
Maybe just one lick...
Cherry.
Lui's favorite flavor.
As the assassin stared at the cherry popsicle, he thought about his ex and about how he turned down the proposal and left him. Yet Daithe is still trying... There's the evidence.
Right there, on the stick of the cherry flavor popsicle, was his number.
Hope it was alright for ya, requester. ✌ I still sick tho so slow updates
