12. Are you Lesbian

My colleagues were glaring at me, few also messaged me on wats app.

'We are not leaving you without full details'

'Veronika and you were best friends'

'How come we don't know about this'

'Omg really'

I just replied them 'later'

After an hour we left the club and went out to get the cars from the parking lot and to my stars of the heaven at the same movement, Veronika was present there with her two other friends.

Sensing our presence Veronika and her friends turned towards us. Veronika turned away but her friends were glaring at Tanushri.

'Let's try once again to get on her and get my answers' I thought myself.

Made my plan set to go.

"Hey, Veronika" I called her catching the attention of everyone. Veronika turned towards me with her award winning blank face.

"Hi, V-Veronika" Tanushri stuttered beside me.

"Hi, Tanushri" she greeted her with pure venom in her voice.

"How are you? It's been so long" Tanushri asked Veronika. I pushed Tanushri forward so that she could get near Veronika.

"How do you think I am Tanushri? and ya it's been long to do my settlement with you" Veronika said.

"What?" Tanushri said. Now Tanushri is two steps away from Veronika and Tanushri is Two steps away from me.

Veronika caught Tanushri hand, pulled Tanushri towards her, and hugged her. I was at first shocked to see Veronika hugging Tanushri but later understood as Veronika whispering to Tanushri in her ears. Veronika's face was, as usual, emotionless and I can't see Tanushri's face. 

'what are they exchanging' I thought.

After one minute Veronika released Tanushri from the hug and went away in her car saying bye. I went near Tanushri to see fear and uncertainty on her face. She is sweating and her eyes are wide as she just saw a ghost.

"Tanushri" I called her.

"Ah-ah I have to go" before I could reply she ran outside and went away in a cab. Now, This was not the reaction I was accepting.

I came out of my thoughts when I felt some one's eyes on they were none other than colleagues and they are demanding the answers. We again went inside the club and I said a brief story of Veronika's and me that we were best friends back in college and she suddenly left and also that Tanushri blamed Veronika for breaking her relationship in which I don't believe a word.I also said them that I am befriending with Tanushri only to get answers from Veronika.

Zakir's POV:

It's lot information to take. Kartik and Veronika were friends not friends best friends. By joining the pieces what he said I could conclude that Kartik is talking about the same time when she ran away from our marriage. If I had given this information before one or two years I would have got angry and irritated but now It's different Now I am concerned about her. She's never to show her furry on anyone. Today her hatred towards that girl made me think the reason for her run away is not the marriage but something deep. I want to know what's bothering her. I couldn't sleep that night, I have to talk to her I want to protect her tell her that I am there and she no needs to worry. I couldn't sleep that night.

I directly went to Veronika's cabin and asked her for lunch, as usual, she made excuses.

"This is not okay Veronika, You have promised me that I can treat you after successfully completing the quotation" Her eyebrows creased and then her eyes became as she remembers.

"So, now no excuses you're coming for lunch with me," I said. Before she could say anything, I left her cabin with a final decision.

"See you exact at 12.00 A.m," I said before closing the cabin door.

At exact 12.00, I got ready and entered Veronika's cabin without knocking.

"Are you ready Veronika?"

"Ya just a second I will get my purse" We went in the elevator to the parking lot, she is keeping me at two arms distance this whole time which is irritating.

I took her to fancy restaurant. As I thought, she will but in she did.

"It's very fancy restaurant for a treat Mr. Zakir"

"First of all it's Zakir for you and second whether it's fancy or not treat is a treat"

"Okay." She said. I made her seat on the chair as a gentleman before sitting myself. There is an awkward silent between us before the waiter came to take our order. We both gave our order. She is looking everywhere but me.

I cleared my thought to get her attention but it is of no use.

'Enough Zakir just directly approach her' Inside voice taunted me.

"Veronika"

"Hmmm, " she said by looking at me.

"Why are we sitting as strangers?" I asked her.

"I don't know."

"How about we play 20 questions?" I asked. She hesitated for a second before saying yes.

"Good"  "Ladies first"

"Favorite color?" She asked me.

"Come on we are not five to ask favorite color but okay it's Black." I said and continued "Now listen what type of question to ask"

"How many boyfriends till now?" I asked she choked in air and said.

"No." She said.

"Come on you cannot back off now you agreed to play 20 questions"

"I mean no one yet, " She said.

'Then why she run away from our marriage, Maybe she is Lesbian' I thought

"Really no one"

"No"

"Okay now, your turn, " I said.

"How about you, How many girlfriends, " She asked.

"No one"

"Now my turn, are you Lesbian?" I blurted out without thinking.

"Why, No?"

"As you don't have any Boyfriends in your History, " I said.

"So are you gay?" She asked and I choked in air "As you too don't have Girlfriends in your History" as I understood what she is trying to explain.

"Sorry, " I said. There was silence for one second before we both started laughing for no reason.

"It's okay, " she said between her laugh.

Our lunch arrived.

"Okay next question, why did you become blood-red anger after seeing her, I guess her Name is Tanushri," I asked carefully. Her eyes became distant for few seconds.

As I thought she will not reply, she replied.
