Chapter 14 - Promise

"It says what?" Yavanika asked.

"Dr. Ravi", the sales man replied.

Yavanika and Roopa looked at each other.

"Thanks for your cooperation" Yavanika said that and both of them left the shop.

"Mam. Someone else must have bought this in the name of Ravi", Roopa told.

"Yes Roopa. I know. But who is that?" Yavanika sighed

While getting into the car. Yavanika noticed that.

"Roopa. Look there."

Roopa saw where Yavanika pointed. It was a Photo studio.

"It's a photo studio. You want to take a picture with me mam?"

Yavanika looked her angrily. "Look what's in front of the studio."

Roopa saw it and said, "Mam. It's a CCTV camera mam"

"Not just a CCTV camera. It is a 360 degree camera."

Both of them went to that photo studio.

Yavanika said, "We want to see the last Monday's surveillance recording."

They agreed and showed it to them.

After seeing the recording for 45 minutes Yavanika and Roopa were tired. They couldn't find anything.

"Anybody looking familiar for you Roopa"?

Roopa didn't say anything at first. But suddenly she started speaking.

"Mam Take a look at this man."

Yavanika saw that man in the video. He was a wearing a black shirt and a blue jean.

"Who is he Roopa?"

"You will be shocked if I tell you that"

"Who is that? Tell me now" Yavanika urged her.

"He is the personal secretary of Ex-Minister Raju."

"Raju?"

"Raju is the Father in law of Ravi."

Yavanika was in surprise.

"Bring him in."

5 December 2016, 3:00 PM

Robert was brought to the ACP office and was sitting in the investigation room. Yavanika and Roopa entered that room. Roopa was holding a laptop. Robert was in early 30's. Dark eyes. Salt and Pepper hair.

"Mr. Robert."

"Yes mam. Why am I here?" Robert asked Yavanika.

Yavanika looked Roopa. Roopa opened the laptop and showed it to Robert.

"Can you tell me that this is not you?" Yavanika asked in a loud voice.

"That's me. What's wrong in going to a medical shop?"

"It's not wrong, what did you buy?"

Robert closed his eyes for a few seconds and started speaking.

"I think I bought some medicines for my son. He was having a fever."

Yavanika laughed and said, "Really?"

"Yes" Robert replied hard.

Yavanika again looked Roopa. Roopa showed another video to Robert. This time it was a live video.

After seeing that video Robert couldn't speak normally.

"That. That's"

"It's your wife and son" Yavanika said with a smile

"Why did you bring them?"

"To show how bad her husband is."

Robert didn't say anything.

Yavanika whispered something in Roopa's ear. Roopa left the room.

"Where is Ravi and Sathya? What happened to them? Who is behind this?"

"Mam. I don't know what you are saying"

Roopa entered the room with Robert's son. He was two years old. Looked very cute.

"Okay. Tell me the same thing by promising on your son."

"What?" Robert was shocked.

"Come on. Robert. If you are telling the truth. Why are you so afraid?"

Robert started crying. After all he is a father. He couldn't do what Yavanika asked him to do. He grabbed his son and hugged him. He started speaking.

"Okay. I'll tell you everything. But you promise me that I'll get my family back and nothing happens to them."

"I promise you that nothing happens to your family. Tell me who are all behind this? What is the reason? Is Ravi safe? What happened to Sathya?"

Robert started talking.

Yavanika's eyes opened WIDE.
