Chapter Twelve- The Bloody Sunset

*Kai's POV*

"Kai-Kai, what did I tell you about eating muck?" the woman spoke down to a young boy, with a hint of a smile on her face.

It was hard for Lucia Parkerson to be mad at her son, he was simply too adorable! She was struggling to look stern while the 2 year old pouted at her, with his hands full of dark debris.

He was too innocent for this world she thought, way too innocent. It was then she shed a tear, she must protect him at all costs, alongside his baby sister, Nora.

"Wha- Ma-Ma,Cwy?" the toddler gurgled out, still unable to speak properly.

Lucia wiped her tears while smiling down at her son, who was now pulling at her clean, floral dress. She must remain strong, it wouldn't be long now until they could leave and get away from this nightmare realm. Her sister assured her that she had found a safe house, at least for now.

There was one person she would miss. Rosaline. But, it was for the best for Kai and Nora to run until they were carefully hidden. He could never find out about them, she didn't want to imagine if he did.

She turned her attention back to her son and panicked when she saw him trying to unclasp his bracelet she had specifically given him.

"NO" she screeched with a bit too much force, making the boy start to bawl into her dress.

"Oh baby, shhh" she whispered soothingly as she pulled the boy up into her arms "don't cry little guy. Mama isn't annoyed but listen to me Kai-Kai, you must never ever remove that bracelet. It will protect you when I'm not around, Nora will get hers when she's your age too. I love you so much".

Lucia could no longer hold back her tears as she nestled the boy closer to her chest, holding him and protecting him. What was taking her sister so long? The sooner they got away the better.

A cry broke out through the house and she smiled, knowing the screeches of her new born Nora. Gosh she was a crier! She turned leaving her baby boy to happily yap away with his teddy bear.

"We need to talk" came the deep voice of her husband, Kai and Nora's father.

She flinched at his tone and carefully turned to face him.

"About what darling?" she spoke trying to muster the best fake smile she could.

"Don't smile at me you bitch, you' been on the phone to that devil sister of yours. DO YOU THINK I'M STUPID" the man roared in rage.

Lucia faltered, her eyes widening in panic. He knew, he must of overheard her hushed conversations on the phone. She swallowed and tried to play it off.

"Of course not, I wou-"

"Don't you fucking dare lie, you stupid bitch. You need to be thought a lesson" he taunted dangerously coming closer to her.

"Contacting that blood sucker of a sister, I should have disposed of her the minute I noticed her. But you protected her like the bitch you are. I should have killed you then, but you were carrying my baby and look what happens, it's a girl. Another failure."

He grabbed her by the arms as she trashed and hissed at him, trying to escape to her babies. She was desperate, she had to protect them.

The boy looked up at the house, frowning at the deafening screams and the shattering of doors as unfamiliar men barged into the house, with sharp, wooden like sticks.
