-Grace's POV-

"Imagine, a nice, clear, transparent ceiling; at night you watch the stars and airplanes, also the moon. In the morning you stare at the beautiful blue sky. When it rains, you watch the droplets fall with no care." I said. River and I laid on his bed, staring at his ceiling.

"You have a creative imagination." River said. I looked at him, and he had a smile plastered on his face. "I think a transparent ceiling is what I need. It could clear my mind if I just pay attention to the sky. No need to struggle to go outside, I can just stay in the comfort of my room."

"Sounds perfect, doesn't it?" I asked.

"Yeah.." River said softly.

"River, Grace?" River's mother came in. "I wanted to ask if Grace wanted to stay for dinner."

"I'm sorry, I can't tonight." I said sadly.

"Its alright, how about tomorrow?" Mrs. Phoenix asked.

"That sounds good to me." I smiled.

"Great! You'll get to meet the rest of the family tomorrow! Joaquin comes home tomorrow as well!" She said excitedly.

"Already?!" River asked surprised. His mom winked at him and left the room. River looked at me excitedly.

"What?" I asked.

"Joaquin is coming home from San Diego! He's been gone for a month, but it feels like forever!" River smiled hugely.

"Save the excitement for tomorrow!" I laughed. River hugged me with excitement, but the energy calmed and just being in his arms made the atmosphere romantic.

"Is it wrong to say I like this?" River asked. I froze.

"I don't see a reason not to." I responded. He chuckled lightly.

"Ooh, being romantic with Grace, are we Riv?" Someone said. I let go of River and turned to see Rain smiling.

"Go away Rain." River raised an eyebrow at her.

"Dinner is ready, and mom said she wants you to walk Grace home." Rain said and walked out.

"Well, that was fun while it lasted." River joked. "I'll be happy to walk you home."

"That would be really nice." I said and stuffed my hands in my pockets. We walked to the door and I said my goodbyes. "Goodbye Mr and Mrs. Phoenix and Rain, it was a pleasure meeting all of you."

"Goodbye Grace, we'll see you tomorrow!" Mr. Phoenix smiled.

"Bye Grace!" Rain waved as well as Mrs. Phoenix.

"I'll be back soon." River gave a small salute and we left.

"I really like your family." I said as we began walking.

"Thats a good thing," River smiled. "When will I be meeting your mom?"

Hopefully never..

"Uh, I don't know." I said uncomfortable, and I think River saw how uneasy I became.

"Are you afraid of her meeting me?" River asked. I looked at him shocked.

"What? No! Of course not-"

"Grace, you don't have to lie. My parents are ashamed of me; I drink a lot.. so if you don't want your mom knowing about me-" He said a bit mad.

"River." I stopped him. "I'm not afraid of her meeting you. I'm afraid of her. I could never be ashamed of you. Never say something like that."

"I'm sorry.." He sighed. "Why are you afraid of her? They don't hurt you..do they?"

"No, no. I'm afraid of hrt critism; she usually judges how I do things or who I hang out with. But with a guy, I don't know how she'll exactly react. If she doesn't like it, i'm still hanging with you, because its nice being with you. And if she's ok with it, then there's nothing to worry about." I explained trying to calm myself. River smiled.

"You're too much." He put his arm around me.

"Is that a good or bad thing?" I asked.

"Good." He smirked, and we continued walking.
