It was dark out with a lot of mist around the old manor, in the middle of nowhere. The kids at school said it was so no one could hear you scream when the sprits took your life in the most painful way possible, by extracting your soul. Why did I let Rose and James talk me into this? Of course I didn't believe the rumours, being a woman of science myself. But still, this is where serial killers stayed. Oh gods, I'm freaking myself out.

"Hey Jazzy, come on we're here, we might as well explore the place." Called out James.

"Yeah Jazmine, or are you too scared. Miss 'I'll go and prove all of you wrong because of science' is too scared to even look at the building!" Ethen, James friend, called out laughing.

"Oh ha, ha Ethen, I'm coming, just give me a sec, Mr 'screams like a little girl when he sees a spider hardly bigger then my thumb."

As we walked up to the long, winding, intimidating driveway of the place, my mind started wondering, thinking that maybe, just maybe, it could be haunted? This is how horror movies always start, right? Few teens walk into an old house for laughs and then, one by one, they die. Slow and painful, fast and painless, irrelevant. They all die! My heart was beating so hard I thought I would die of a heart attack before I could even prove the house was harmless, and I could hear Rose's breath quicken every step we took. When we reached the ancient, timber door at the end of the driveway, with what looked like horrible, wolf-like claw marks on it, Ethen pushed past the mouldy, old sign right next to the door mat telling us that 'Trespassers will be prosecuted if found entering Milford Manor'.

"Ok, is everyone ready for this." Asks James placing his hand on the door. I could see the worry on his face. I think that he was regretting the choice that we had made to come here more and more as each and every second pasted. Honestly, I think everyone, even 'Mr I'm not scared of anything' Ethen was starting to realise that this might not have been the wisest of choices we could have made on this dark, hazy Friday night.
