She was laid in flowers
Roses, Lilies and Daffodils
In the tallest room, the highest tower
Dark as night within the fieldsHer red lips cracked
Her fair skin pale
Her body lean and bone
Her hair dry as haleYou remember a time
When her heart was filled with desires
And her eyes with such fire
Until you came. You remember how you came to her
Swore to give her the world on a platter
How she refused and wished after
Nothing but your love and life with herWith your promise on her lips
She followed you through thin and thicks
Your hand gripped in her palm
To her, was a soothing balmYou remember now, what you said
Cruelty and unkindness as you fled
Leaving her alone in the rain
To think of all your promises vain. You broke her to many pieces
Tossed and discarded like shattered glass
That drifts and floats and then freezes
In a world of cold, dark iceNow you stare at her laid in flowers
Your words which broke her around her neck
In a place where her eyes like ice
And the fire in her heart quenched. You'll always remember the words she said
You'll always hear the songs she sang
You'll always see the fire in her eyes
You'll always feel the desires of her heartEven as yours begin to die out
The weak, sad whisper of her voice
Haunts you through dark and light
Broken as she was, you 'remember'.You'll always remember.

Tophie's Note
Remember, remember, remember. Reminds me of when Mufasa told Simba 'Remember who you are, you are my son and the one true king. Remember, remember.'
And I just end up missing Lion King. Even Timon and Pumba. Sheesh.
Anyway, hope you like the poem. Can we take a moment to remember something, anything that always makes us want to remember it?
Now I got myself thinking of Shakira ft Rihanna's Can't Remember to forget you'
Remember (hehe) to leave a vote and comment on whatever you remembered while reading this poem.
P.S. I think the word 'Remember' will stay imprinted in my mind for a while.
Happy Remembering.
