I walked down the hall and knocked on Matt and Carter’s door. Carter was the one who answered.
“Hey beautiful,” he said giving me a hug as I walked in the door, “You smell good. Why wasn’t I invited to the clam bake?” I laughed as he attempted a sad face.
“Darlin’, if it was my weed you would have taken the first hit.” I said as I walked over to Matt who was sitting on his laptop.
“Did you partake?” Carter asked sitting down on his bed across from me.
“You tell me.” I had always been really good at acting outwardly sober while on the inside I was flying high.
“Nah, you don’t look it.”
Matt, who still hadn’t looked up from his laptop, gave me a quick one armed hug and said,
“Let me guess, Morgan and Lindsay are in there with them?”
I nodded attempting to show indifference as I laid back on Matt’s bed, to which he gave me a pointed look. That observant little shit was the only person that could tell I had a thing for Cam. He asked me about it almost on a daily basis, but I still hadn’t relented and admitted it to him.
After seeing that he wasn’t going to get me to budge on the subject he said,
“Well, I have some bad news. Mahogany dropped off your suitcase earlier, apparently she’s going to have some company tonight so you’re stuck with us.”
I sighed deeply rubbing my temples, but smiled as I leaned up. Mahogany was a sweet girl, I wasn’t as close to her as I was the boys but we got along fine. It was just when she pulled shit like this that I got a bit annoyed. I would never say anything, of course, I was too much of a people pleaser for that.
“Why do you put up with that bullshit, Aly? I love the girl, but damn, I can’t remember an event that you didn’t have to stay with us at least one night.” Carter stated from his bed, to which I gave a noncommittal shrug.
“You’re too nice, baby girl. Don’t ever change.” I smiled at that.
“So am I bunking with you tonight little brother?” I asked Matt and pulled some fluff from his hair.
“Unless you want to sleep with Carter or any of the other guys, but they might try to jump you. That and they all take over the whole fucking bed.” Matt replied.
I looked flabbergasted from Matt and back to Carter, who shrugged not so innocently,
“I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can’t promise not to do either. You fine, girl.” He said in a semi-serious tone.
I shook my head, “Dear lord, all of y’all are absolutely ridiculous. And either way, I’m not about that cougar lifestyle, ya dig?”
Matt shuddered, “You should never talk like that ever again, kay? Kay.”
“Oh yeah,” I looked at him incredulously before tackling him to the bed, “How do you like that, huh?” I teased as we start play wrestling.
“Oww! Ow! Seriously stop, Aly that hurts.”
I quickly pulled away from him, “Oh shit, I’m sorry! Are you okay?” I asked. I was looking for the source of where I might have hurt him when he started laughing.
“I’m just fucking with you. Damn, Carter’s right. I think instead of being 70% water, you’re made of 70% sugar because you are too sweet.”
I laughed, “You are gonna make some nerdy girl very happy one day with lines like that. I’m gonna hop in the shower, I am tired of smelling dank.”
