Keena
"BUT I SET FIREEE - TO THE RAIN! WATCH IT POUR AS I TOUCHED YOUR FACE!" I held on to my toothbrush as I sang with a muffled voice. "Well, it burned while I cried - 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name,-"
"What is taking you so long Keena?!" My older brother, Percy, banged at the bathroom door. "We're going to be so late and if Auntie Elena catches us we are so SCREWED." He banged at the door once again.
I looked over to the bathroom mirror and winked at myself. Look at this gorgeous human being in front of me just-wow.
When I finished my self appreciation morning ritual, I catwalked out of the bathroom and played a song that was befiting to me. "I'm sexy and I know it!" As the tune mixing or whatever it is those were called continued, I bobbed my head like a crazy person and made dance moves only people with arthritis are capable of.
"God, why? Why do I have her for a sister?" He just took one last look at me, when I started to play 'I whip my hair back and forth' and was about to do it myself when he slammed the bathroom door shut. That didn't stop me though.
Dried my hair, put on light make-up, put on my uniform and just brought my backpack since I filled it with the necessary things I need to bring at the first day of the semester last night, all in 30 minutes. And they say women takes a lot of time to prepare when in all honesty, it just depends on the occasion, mood and/or both. And I am one happy baloney at the moment.
I heard my brother get out of the shower and when his room door closed, I ran off to the kitchen to sneakily grab one of Auntie Elena's chocolate chip cookies. Something I am clearly not allowed to do but that is why I do it sneakily. We're only supposed to eat it when we got home from school. Some kind of a reward. But I'm hungry now so I'm sure Auntie will look past it.
"I'm home! But I hope no one could hear me because if my nephew and niece are still here it means they're late and I will be killing them!" Wait - what? I looked over to the clock and recalculated their supposed time of return. They weren't supposed to be here for another 15 minutes!
I tried to run for my room, but uncle Dan immediately caught me and carried me out to the living room. "I have found the culprit my queen." He plopped me down at the sofa. "What shall we do with this beast?"
"Hmm..." my aunt looked me over from head to toe, and announced- "Off with her head!" In Helena's Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland voice.
That's when Auntie Elena's and Uncle Dan's son, Jasper, tried to stop his dads action on "beheading" me by sending him off to the other side of the room with a- "kamee-hamee- BLAST!" Which Uncle did splendidly. (Flapping his hands backwards and hitting the wall behind him with a thud.)
"Oh mighty warrior, your power is too strong. I am weak in your presence. I am dead!" And he looked as if he was faking a heart attack.
"Victory!" Jasper cried and jumped into my arms.
"God, why? Why do I have them for a family?" Percy asked to the heavens, now fully clothed.
"Okay role playing's over. You two get out of here and go to school." Auntie handed me my bag and gave us each a kiss on the cheek, from Uncle was a high five and from Jasper was a big ol' hug.
Percy sat on the passenger's seat, as he always do, because the man has no idea how to drive. You heard it here first folks. He, a 24 year old professor at our school, has no idea how to flipping drive a car, or any vehicle for that matter.
We arrived at school right on time for Percy's first class. "Now remember, No nagging, bragging, sweating, fretting, slipping, tripping, slurping, burping, twittering or frittering allowed." I fixed his necktie as I recited a line from Barbie's Princess and the Pauper, which is still my favorite switch from princess to commoner and vice versa story of all time. Next will be Netflix's The Princess Switch.
