Chapter two

-Hermione and Ginny are sitting in the library, they have been there for two hours-

"Hermione, thank you so much for helping me, it means a lot." Ginny thanked packing up her wand and books.

"Anything for a friend, so do you think you're ready for the test? I can not help you when it happens so if you have questions ask them now." Hermione smiled doing the same

"I do have a question but it is not about the test.." Ginny replied nervously

"What is it then?" Hermione entreated

"Do like my brother?" Ginny asked

"Why do you ask?" Hermione answered nervously

"Well.. I think he may have some feelings for you." Ginny admitted

"Fred has feelings for me?? I mean, I've had a crush on him for as long as I can remember. I never thought he would have one on me too. Has he said anything about me?" Hermione replied excitedly

"Wait.. you like Fred?? My brother Fred? What??" Ginny looked shocked

"Oh wait.. you weren't asking about Fred? Um just forget all of that then" Hermione laughed nervously

"I was referring to the brother you actually spend time with. Yah know, Ronald. I never thought about Fred. I guess it was kind of obvious, you always get nervous when he's around. Not to mention you basically stare a hole into him" Ginny shrugged

"Ronald and I? Oh Ginny no, he's like a brother to me. I know how he feels towards me, but I just have to hope he can find someone else so I don't have to turn him down. Just please don't tell your brothers. I don't want Ron getting mad or Fred thinking I'm a weird schoolgirl." Hermione fiddled with the time turned, debating on whether or not to use it.

"Hermione, I would never tell them. I just don't want Ron to get hurt. You're secret is safe with me, you've kept my secret about Neville. I'm really tired from studying so I'm going to head to the common room." Ginny reassured Hermione as she left the library

Hermione stayed for another 30 minutes doing her potions homework. While putting the books back in their places, she felt someone watching her every move. Hermione looked around to realize she was not the only one in the library. All of a sudden, a dark figure emerged from the restricted section.

"Hello, Granger" a voice slurred Hermione jumped and turned around to see Draco Malfoy looking at her.

"You scared me! Why do you smell like butterbeer?? Malfoy! Did you sneekout again??" Hermione questioned helping the drunk boy

"Maaayybbee... Okayyy yessshh idid sowhhhhhaat?" He tried to say stumbling

"Draco, now I have to help you get to your dorms, you know how noticeable that will be. You kill me Malfoy, you really do. Sit down before you kill yourself." Hermione tried not to laugh at the sight of her friends enemy.

If they saw her now, helping him, they would probably have a fit. Hermione was supposed to hate Malfoy too. She did for a while but then she started to understand him. Last year while they were on Christmas break, Hermione, Ron, and Harry had stayed at Hogwarts. Well Draco did as well. His father could not get away from work and his mum was away for a fashion show, leaving Draco all alone. They had all avoided each other, until Hermione went to the library all by herself (Ron and Harry wanted to play wizard chess) to find Draco reading "Hogwarts: A History", which happened to be Hermione's favourite book. Hermione looked around for a book that caught her interest. Picking up a mystery story called "The Night Of The Missing Jaybird" by Madame Flint-wicked and sat with Draco. He started to open up to her about his home life and all the pressure he was under while attending Hogwarts. After that night, Draco and Hermione would meet in secret next to the restricted section of the library.
