Tuesday, was the last happy and normal day of my life. I was walking down the hallways of school surrounded by the buzzing crowd who described themselves as my 'friends' but I knew my true friends were my closest Amy, Olivia and Lyra. They were the only ones who knew the dark secrets behind my popular radiant girly girl mirage. They knew about all the things that have happened in my family's big happy house and all the times I wake up in the night with a cold sweat dreaming about horrors that roam in my household.

"Maya!" I look up from my IPhone to see a freckled face with striking brown eyes. Jane. Ugghh Jane. Great! I thought to myself. Just what I need, an annoying bitch who thinks she's better than everyone else just because she got a boyfriend in Soccer team competing for Melbourne. "Hi Jane! How are you?" Like I care. "A little birdie flew to me and told me you're having a sleepover at your house tonight and I was just wondering why I wasn't invited. Because everyone knows I am the life of the party!" She says without even a small sign in her voice to show she was kidding. "I'm sorry my mum said I could only invite 3 people and I invited Lyra, Olivia and Amy."  "Whatever!" she retorts and storms off towards the bathrooms. What a little turd.

I trudge towards the eating area with my brand new lunchbox looking for the familiar faces of my friends. But I see there is no one at our usual eating spot, I look around and see them sitting with all the boys. Noooooooo! I think to myself. Lyra is probably sitting with her boyfriend  and oh no! It's George. I quickly look in one of the reflective windows to see if my hair was okay. "Maya come over here!" Lyra hollers to me "I want you to come take a selfie with me!" I turn my head and try to stroll over looking as attractive as I can in front of George but I trip over my feet and fall flat on my face. "Are you okay?" I see George's face above me.                                                       "I'm fine." I say. Oh my God that was the most embarrassing moment of my life.                         "You better watch where you're walking." he says kindly. Riiiinng! The familiar sound of the bell rings in my ears. Calling us to our final classes of the day. "Have fun in SOSE!" Lyra calls out to me but doesn't wait for a reply and I head off to the last class of the day.

"3 o'clock that's when we can all leave this god-forsaken place and have fun, but right now it's 2:30 which means you still have half an hour to learn." Mrs. Dule screams across the class,"Now! When you all stop chattering and take your heads out of your arses we can start! Remember the more of my time you take up, the longer you stay in!" I stare out the window weirdly wondering what it would be like to be a bird. "Well?" Mrs. Dule glares at me. Damn! She must've asked me a question and I wasn't listening. "Pardon?" She yells at me about not listening in class and tells me I have a detention on Friday. "I'm sorry miss, won't happen again miss." Then, riiinnng! The bell goes signalling home time. As soon as the teacher says we can go everyone races out of the classroom, to their lockers and out of the school or they stand around chatting to their friends.

I walk to the school entrance and wait for Amy, she's walking with me to the train station and we'll catch the train to my house. Lyra and Olivia's parents will drop them off. I look around for Amy but I can't see her anywhere then I see her glistening red hair among the crowd racing out of the school and I wave to her she waves back. We chat for about 5 minutes about how stupid the teachers are at this school and start walking across the road to the train station. "So you tripped and fell on your face in front of him?" she asks quizzically.                                                               "Like a moose on rollerskates." I say embarrassed. We continue to the train station, buzz our mitzi travel cards and ride on the train. We continue our conversation until the train speaker announces we've arrived at our station and we walk out into the summer afternoon sunlight.
