Wendy's Pov
"Dad,"
The smile never left my lips the moment we saw each other on screen. He was wearing a glasses with a cup of coffee from his left arm. Mukhang nasa office pa din ito hanggang ngayon.
"Hey, how are you?" He asked.
Sa totoo lang, it's been days since I noticed the tiredness from his eyes. I know even when he smiles at me, those from behind will always what I see.
"I'm fine Dad. Ikaw? You didn't take your lunch again, anong oras na ba diyan?" I said with concern.
I saw someone handing him a paper. Mukhang kakapasok lang at mabilis na inabot ito sa kanya.
"Thank you," he said to the lady.
I bit my lower lip to stop myself from worrying. I know he's working hard for this, but his health should be also his priority.
I kept on reminding him of that but he's too persistent. He would tell me he's alright, but his eyes would always tell me he's not.
"Yeah. I already took my lunch sweety, don't worry that much," he chuckled.
Napabuntong hininga naman ako dahil sa kanyang sinabi. Mukhang kakatapos nga lang niya dahil nakita ko ang ilang paper bags mula sa gilid niya kaya napanatag din ako pagkatapos.
I asked him about my cousins and tita Carmona. He told me that they are all doing great and they missed me too. I then finally thought of seeing them again.
Matagal ko na silang hindi nakikita. Bilang lang din ang mga pagkakataon na nakakasama ko sila dahil 'yun nga, we don't live in a same land. We're far away from each other kaya madalang lang kung magkita kami.
Right after the call. I immediately went to bed and doze of to sleep. Dad was called for a sudden meeting, kaya kinakailangan na naming putulin ang pag-uusap. I didn't protest since I still have class for tomorrow too.
Kinaumagahan, nagising ako dahil sa malakas na tunog ng alarm ko. I rush towards my bathroom to fix myself and started preparing for school. I just tied my hair up and sprayed a little amount of perfume on my wrist before I finally went downstairs to meet Mom.
"Morning," I said after kissing her cheeks.
"Morning sweety. Come have your breakfast here with me," she said smiling.
Tumango naman ako bago umupo sa kanyang tapat. The food was already servered. Mukhang kakatapos lang din nila Manang dahil nasa garden na siya ngayon naglilinis. Kuya Roi from the other hand was found helping her water the plants. Napangiti tuloy ako ng mapansin nila akong nakatingin sa kanila.
They just nodded at me before I finally started eating what I had in front.
"Your aunt called earlier," napaangat ang tingin ko ng biglang magsalit si Mom.
She was sipping on her coffee before she took a glance at me.
"What about it?"
"Well, Marizah wanted to send regards to you since she was missing you a lot already." aniya at ngumiti.
I suddenly felt sad for the moment I remembered my other cousin. Kung bakit ba naman kasi ang lalayo ng mga pinsan ko. It's hard since all I could do is to see them through the use of social medias.
