Chapter 8- Time to Party (Sophies P.O.V.)

Sophie's P.O.V:

So just to clear things up Kyle might be nerdy but everyone likes him, ok. My mom thinks he's not social but she is wrong and right. Kyle doesn't like talking to a bunch of people at a time but that doesn't mean he's not social he just doesn't like big groups. He's a guy that can't hate someone easily and so when I saw the fear and anger on his face when that guy showed up I was a little shocked. So basically what I'm trying to say is everyone likes him and he likes to talk to people in small groups.
7:30- When we get at Davids Party he immediately greeted us and of course winked at me and Amber, ugh he is such a flirt.
David: "Hello ladies!" *wink*
Sophie: *eye roll* "Hi David. Thanks for inviting us!"
David laughs and so does Amber and Kyle.
David: "Your Welcome Hun"
Later after saying hi to some people me and Amber dance outside where four big boom boxes are around the yard and in the center there is a big pool with about 10 people in it. A girl in my science class and a boy who I don't know are in the pool kissing, which is kinda weird but I don't pay much attention to them.
9:30: Me and Amber got tired of dancing outside so we went inside to get a drink. Amber doesn't ever drink anything alcoholic, and I am very responsible and only drink one alcoholic drink while I'm inside. Me and Amber go outside again to talk and finish our drinks.
Amber: "Remember only drink one because you know what happens when you drink more than one." And she gives me that motherly look. Ugh so annoying when she says that.
Sophie: "That was last year! As in 5 parties ago ok, I've learned me lesson!
Amber starts laughing.
Sophie: "What? What did I do?"
Amber: "You said 'Learned me lesson' instead of 'Learned my lesson'!"
And then she starts laughing even more as I roll my eyes. Kyle walks over to us and looks at Amber in a weird face.
Kyle: "What's up with her?"
Sophie: "I don't know, she thinks I said something wrong and thinks it's hysterical."
Kyle: "What did you do?" He smirks at me, and Amber tells him. After she tells him they both start laughing.
Kyle: "No more drinks for you!"
Sophie: "Oh my god I know! And stop laughing it's not funny!"
They both giggle a little more and then stop. Kyle says he has to do something and then walks away. His expression looks a weird though.
Sophie: "Did you see his face? Should we follow him?"
Amber: "No, I'll be back I'm going to the bathroom. Stay here ok?"
I nod and she walks away. Then I hear someone calling my name and I look over to see Sage. He is waving me over but I just turn around. I don't want to see him. That cheating bastard made me loose my 10 year streak of not crying. The last time I cried was when my dad left. I don't remember what he looked like and why he left but he left and I promised I wouldn't cry after that. I couldn't because I don't like it when Kyle sees me cry. I still can see Kyle's face that night, he was being strong for me. He held me in his arms while I cried as we heard mom and dad yelling. It was awful. And then everything went silent after a slam of the front door. Kyle and Mom didn't ever want to talk about it after that, I've always had a feeling they weren't telling me everything though.
Sage walked over to me and offered me a drink, but I shook my head and urged me to take it.
Sage: "Come on babe, take the drink so we can- can uhh, talk. Wow! Your smoking tonight!" His eyes trail down to my legs and I start to walk away, but he grabs my wrist and jerks me towards him. I look at him in disgust. Him and 2 of his idiot friends laugh.
Sophie: "ya'know, I think I'll take that drink." I say in a cheerful tone.
Sage hands me the drink and let's go of my wrist. I dump the drink on him and kick him his you know where.
Sage: "Ow! Wtf! Sophie!"
Sophie: "That's for cheating on me! And just so you know, your drunk as hell right now!" I fast walk inside since people stared gossiping about what just happened. 'Where is Amber?' I thought and go find the bathroom. But when I get there I hear Amber and Kyle talking so I eavesdrop on their conversation.
Kyle: "I'm sorry you had to be there, I was, so scared. And thank goodness Sophie didn't recognize him. I feel bad for not telling her what he did but I don't want to talk about it and neither does mom." Kyle sounds sad and I feel bad. I want to go and hug him but then Amber starts talking.
Amber: "I'm so sorry Kyle. I don't think you should tell Sophie, it will break her heart. I think your mom agrees with me." What is it? What will break my heart? And then I hear heavy breathing so I look over and see them kissing, WHAT?
