It was dark. A young women only 17 years of age, walked hesitantly towards the crystal blue sea. As light from a nearby window fell on her face, her eyes glinted with tears. She heard a sharp noise and she spun round, her feet barely touching the ground. The ground was soft so her feet could have sunk into it. A shallow voice came out of nowhere beckoning her across. Her face showed a mixture of expressions, but mainly terror. She again faced the sea and by now tears were streaming down her face. The voice spoke again and this time she shouted back 'NO'. By now her face had become pale and her eyes were red, she had had enough... She turned and said "This Ends, NOW" and placed an object on the sand and ran. The owner of 'the voice' walked forward and put a hand into the box, he smiled and then picked the box up and left. As the sun rose up in the cloud free sky, nobody knew what had happened there that night.

It was a dark and dreary day. The girls in year 7 at St. Catherine's High school were doing P.E and as usual they were doing tennis. A selection of the girls in her form got to go and play Football with the boys but they were chosen because they were 'special'. There was always one person who would shout 'it's not fair' at the teacher and she always got told off. Three quarters of the way through the lesson she had had enough. Just then her friend Emily served the ball to her, Emily hit the ball so hard that it went out of the courts and slightly into the overgrown forest behind the school. She looked at Emily, Emily smiled and said "Go, get it otherwise you'll be in trouble". She sighed, why did it always have to be her? She walked towards the edge of the courts and then wondered how on earth the ball had managed to get out. But then, at the very end of the courts, was a gap. A very small gap but a ball could fit through there and perhaps even a small human. When she arrived at the gap she looked, surely she couldn't fit in there? But as she tried she realised she could. Putting one foot at a time and then her head and finally her arms and body she was surprised to see that she had managed to get through, but was also worried in case the others didn't realise she had gone and left without her. Looking back she realised that the sky had become even darker and that the clouds looked like they would and could open at any moment and seeing that it was winter she realised that it might not be rain but snow, and Mallaig would be even worse. She was afraid, very afraid. The forest made everything seem darker and she worried. She went in far enough to get the tennis ball and turn back it was only then that she saw something by the (large, old, birch, oak etc.?) tree. She walked over to the tree very slowly and quietly when she got there she stopped. Whatever had been there wasn't there now. She turned round, at which point a (strange?) memory suddenly filled her mind. The memory was of a young girl not too much older than her, out of school though. She had blonde hair and was standing among some trees. The sound of crying came from the girls arms, she must have been carrying a baby. She was scared, her face showed fear and something else made her think why on earth it had anything to do with her? (who?) She knew that she had never known her real parents but that had nothing to do with her. She ran, all the way to the edge of the tennis courts. Her fear had been brought to life. Everyone had gone, they must have gone while she was in there. They could only be changing now, right? Not only that but the hole in which she had come through had gone, which meant she had to walk all the way round the courts and out the gate the other side. She sighed. Why her? She was walking as fast as she could, but not fast enough. As she rounded the corner she saw teachers talking. It was only at that point that she realised she would either have to come up with an excuse for being late and having a tennis ball in her hand, or she could try and go and put the ball in the basket in the school P.E cupboard. She decided that for her own sake she would go and try to get into the P.E cupboard. When she arrived at the P.E cupboard she pulled on the handle, it didn't move. It was locked. She tried again. Nope, it didn't open. Then a third, this time much to her disgrace, the door handle slid and the door opened. She smiled; her luck must be in today. She walked through the cupboard and found the bucket and put the ball away. She was leaving the room when she wondered what on earth would happen next what with the door being broken (?). She walked off, quickly rounding the corner in such a rush that she caught her arm on the wall, again she was worried that someone would see her. She was heading towards the girls changing room when she heard someone behind her. She walked even faster but to her dismay the teacher had seen her and was trying to get her attention.
