As we pulled into the familiar parking lot if my school, St.Joseph high school, I let out a long sigh of annoyance. Today was going to be long, and quite painful. I could already tell. This morning had been very hectic. I had woken up an hour late causing myself to miss breakfast, showering, and my bus. Thank God it was Friday.

I made my way through the large, heavy, pale green doors of the school. The hallways looked completely deserted after the bell to second block rang throughout the school. I slowly made my way towards my current class, wasting as much time as possible. I had English second block, and I really didn't feel like writing a 3000 word essay on The Outsiders by S.E Hinton.

"Hey Isabelle, are me, you, and Ryan still watching movies tonight?"

I looked up from my essay to find my best friend Andrea's beautiful eyes staring at me. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Her eyes were bright green, and dotted with speckles of hazel surrounding her iris. Her hair was naturally wavy, dirty blonde, and rested perfectly just below her shoulders. The perfect amount of faint brown freckles were scattered under her eyes, looking as if they had been placed carefully on her face.

"Isabelle...?"

My thoughts were then interrupted.

"Oh jeez. Sorry Andrea. Yeah we're still going to if you guys are alright with that. Be at my place around 8:30 or 9. I'll ask my dad to get us some snacks, and horror movies."

"Okay. I'll see you later then!"

As the bell signifying the end of the day rung the empty hallways were soon filled with the voices of students speaking amongst their friends. I made my way through the hallways to my locker as quickly as I could, trying my best not to knock into anyone.

"Hey loser!"

Ryan teased through a smile. His smile immediately illuminated the room he was in. The sincere joy in his raspy voice was always evident, and the way his icy blue eyes glimmered under the vivid lights of the school was always heartwarming. His hair was dark brown accompanied by natural light brown high lights. It was short, but still swept to the side, and always worn in a navy blue hat that read "Etnies" across the front in white hand stitched hand writing. Ryan was the kind of nerdy poet, yet also edgy guy. His wardrobe only really consisted of cardigans, blazers, and skinny jeans; but the hat he wore gave him a more unique look.

"Hey Ryan! Are you coming over tonight?"

"Yeah of course! What time do you want me over?"

"Around 8:30 or 9 would be great!"

Ryan nodded in agreement, waved good bye, and then left. I was so excited for tonight, I haven't hung out with Ryan and Andrea for the longest time. I suppose it's because, once you get into high school it's hard to find a good balance between your social life and school. Once you hit high school everything suddenly becomes so real, you realize every decision you make, and every mark you get will affect your future. It's absolutely terrifying knowing that the decisions you make as a teenager could literally make or break you.

*phone rings*

I pulled my white iPhone 5 from my pocket and glanced at the screen. The caller id read "Dad (work)".

"Hello?"

"Hey! Isabelle I'm outside, and we need to go to the station before we head home so please hurry."

The other line then went dead and I made my way towards the front doors. Once I got outside I scanned the parking lot for my dad's work truck. The truck was white, but the sides were always blanketed in thick coats of dark brown mud that partially covered the emblem that read "Texas Police Department".

We then arrived at the police station. The station here was really old and beaten up. The concrete walls on the outside of the building were cracked and decorated with lots of graffiti, most of which was highly inappropriate. The plexiglass glass doors were barred with metal, yet someone still managed to break them. Inside the building wasn't much better. The front counter's wooden top was faded and scratched, the edges and sides of the table also falling off. A hideous color of yellowish white covered the walls of the entire building on the inside, and three quarters of the filing cabinets drawers were broken and set off to the side still containing their files.
