One week. It's been one week since the last time we had spoken, made eye contact, or passed each other in the hallway, although that was unbearably difficult.
Finally, after five long days of trying to push out any thoughts of Simon whatsoever, I decided to invite over Kay, who I knew would help me get my mind of the situation.
Nobody knew about what happened on the cliff or in the common room and I planned to keep it that way, although the weight on my shoulders and guilt was getting heavier and heavier, day by day.
"So we meet at the main entrance right after the last period?" Kay suggests.
I nod and agree as we separate and head to our classes.
-------
Finally, the bell rang and we were allowed to leave.
I instantly walked over to where Kay and I decided to meet up and spot her already leaning on the brick wall, waiting for my arrival.
As soon as she notices me coming her way, she instantly straightens up and smiles at me, her positive attitude makes my shoulders lighten up, yet my smile begins to falter as I remember that I shouldn't let her know anything.
I put on my happiest expression as greet the girl and we begin to walk towards my house.
"So, anything new this week?" Kay slug her backpack over one of her shoulders, the other strap hanging low by her side. She smiles up at me as I battle with myself whether to tell her the truth or not.
"Nah, nothin' much." I lie and shrug it off, doing a good job at it. "Anything new with you and Viiiiiiik?" I wiggle my eyebrows and make my shoulders dance, earning a laugh from her. "What are you guys anyway?"
"Well..it's..it's difficult. We're like..like untitled, you can say." She stammers at her words, thoroughly processing her train of thought. She grins to the ground, clearly remembering his precious face that she knows so well. "Anyway, that Simon boy been quiet lately. I've seen you two around together but that was only once. What's up with that?"
"Oh, wow. Let's switch the topic and talk about my tragic love life, shall we?" I joke.
She laughs and I smile, forgetting all my worries and deciding to spend time with my friend.
-------
We finally arrive home as I unlock my nearly always empty house.
With my dad working late and my mom living in another city I had the house to myself until nightfall, which I wasn't fond of at times but did great when I had friends over.
"Right then, any plans?" Kay asks while I lead her upstairs, showing off the moderately sized house my family owns.
"Movies and snacks?" I suggest as she nods and we turn the TV, picking out which movies to binge-watch.
-------
"I just..I can't with this scene." Kay says as we reach a certain point in Love Actually. I erupt into laughter as she begins to make her way off the bed and make her way out the room. "Tell me when it's over!" I hear her shout as she goes into the bathroom and locks the door.
"Sure thing!" I try my best and respond as my mouth was full of popcorn at that point.
I hear the door lock turn as I continue watching the movie, when my phone dings, indicating I have a new message. As soon as I see the contact, I look away, deciding whether to respond or not.
Simon 😊
Be ready by seven. I'll explain later
Taken aback by the bluntness of the message, I ignore it and focus on the movie.
Simon 😊I know you're ignoring me. See you soon.
I roll my eyes but quickly change my facial expression so Kay doesn't suspect a thing as I hear the door open.
Checking my phone for the time, I'm in shock.

I elaborate on ideas on how I can get Kay to leave when she opens her mouth, saying something that makes me relax.
"Listen, I'm real sorry but I don't think I can stay the night. Mom says we all gotta visit out nan in the hospital, heard she's poorly." She says with a disappointed look on her face.
I try not to smile.
"Oh no worries. Family first. Is your mom coming to pick you up or you think you can figure out the way home?"
"I can do it." She gives me an understanding smile before we get downstairs and say our goodbyes.
As soon as the door closes, I press my back against it and sigh, closing my eyes in the process.

Around 4o minutes to get ready.. Fuck.
I rush upstairs once more, quickly turning off the TV and getting my speaker. I go into the bathroom and do my deeds, all while singing along to different Ed Sheeran music.
-------
A knock on my door interrupts me from my modelling session in the big mirror that hangs in my room.
I don't bother asking myself how he has my address when I remember that I gave it to him, along with my phone, during that night on the cliff.
I decide to take a few minutes before answering the door, making him think that I totally wasn't checking the time every couple of seconds and desperately waiting for the knock.
Making my way down the wooden staircase and practice my bitch face so once I open up the door, I show him that I'm not up to any games.
I slowly twist the lock, my stomach already filling with butterflies from the thought of Simon just standing there, right in front of me, all mine.
"So it's a date?" Was the first thing I said as soon as I made eye contact with the boy that wouldn't stop messing with my emotions.
"Don't flatter yourself."
