Attack On Titan ~ One Shots

Eren x Reader - Injured

     You, Eren, and the rest of the Survey Corps were returning from another unsuccessful expedition outside the walls. The Survey Corps took a critical blow on this mission and lost over half of their troops. All of the troops, including you, had their heads hung low as the citizens in the town you were going through, were bombarding your squad with questions. The towns people were outraged and confused as to where all the troops have gone in one sole expedition.

     "Commander  Erwin, did you predict this amount of fatalities beforehand?" Someone yelled at our direction.

     "Do you think the dead have any regrets?" "Will their downfall be in vain?" A woman in her mid-40s screamed at the Captain Levi.

     The soldiers all remained quiet and ignored the protests and questioning by the untamed crowds. You snuck a glance at Mikasa who had no expression on her face, it was blank and emotionless. Your eyes transferred to the brunette haired boy walking next to her, his eyes slightly tearing up at the loss of so many of his friends. This boy was Eren, one of your bestfriends. He felt the presence of your glare and glanced up to your eyes, only to break contact a few seconds later to hide his puffy, red eyes. You were one of the troops who didn't get badly injured, the rest of your troops had bandages covering their faces, or missing limbs covered in gauze wrapping. You averted your gaze forwards again when suddenly you felt a tug on your arm that begun throwing you off your horse. You crashed to the ground and your eyes flashed upward to see a women in her early 40s squinting downwards at you.

     "You're one of the troops not injured! I bet you just slacked off and sucked up my tax money watching other troops get eaten alive," She shrilled loudly. Never before had a civilian touched one of the troops before, let alone violently.

     You were still sprawled across the stone floor. Your body ached too much to get up, you're thinking you may have sprained your ankle when you fell off the horse. The women wasn't finished making her point, and she lifted her leg upwards, ready to kick you in the torso. You braced for impact and heard a crack, but it wasn't one of your ribs. It was Eren's shin that he had used to block the women's attack. Somehow Eren managed to intervene and stand in between the two of you before she kicked you. Eren stood there unmoved by the women's action and her eyes widened in reaction to the intense glare in Eren's eyes.

     "Get out of here now! Don't ever touch one of my friends again and appreciate the losses we've taken to keep the people in this wall safe!" He shrieked at the lady who begun backing up, and finally paced away, shaken by Eren's sudden action. Eren turned towards you and picked you up and gently placed you in the back of a carriage. He silently sat next to you and told the soldier pulling the carriage to move onwards. 

     The burning, angry look on his face soon resided to a saddened, hallow look and he turned his body towards you in one swift motion and gently grasped your ankle.

"I think you sprained it when you fell off your horse. I'll help bandage it. Does it hurt?" He questioned with a concerned look plastered on his face.

"No, it feels fine, It'll only be sore for a couple days at most, but what about your shin? She kicked it pretty hard. I even heard a crack." You stated, trying to revert the subject to him while he carefully wrapped bandages around your ankle.

"Nah, I'm fine really. You're the one who was thrown off your horse onto the concrete."

"That's not even close to the things that have happened to our friends..." You said with grief in your voice.

     Eren's gaze moved downwards towards the flooring of the carriage. His bangs covered the majority of his face and his overall appearance darkened. You both grew silent and he finished up bandaging your ankle then focused on something in the opposite direction, hiding his face from you, and causing you to regret bringing the subject up in the first place. The silence was awkward so you shuffled to the other side of the carriage and slowly fell into a slumber that would last the rest of the journey to the encampment.

     "Hey, wake up." "Come on, we arrived." You were shaken awake by Eren who was having trouble waking you up. Your eyes finally squinted open, allowing some fragments of light into your orbs, startling you awake.

     Eren didn't seem to have that darkened expression on anymore and in fact, he smiled a bit at you. He stood up and crouched down picking you up again and bringing you to a bed. You glanced down at your leg and noticed your ankle was now swollen and you had many more bruises than you originally thought. Your body ached as he layed you down and took a seat right next to your bed.

     "I think you should rest a bit on that leg of yours, working on it too much could strain it more," he said as he looked into your orbs, never breaking contact once.

     "Thank you, Eren." You said sincerely and smiled. He's helped you a lot recently and you never properly thanked him for all the little sacrifices he's made.

     "It's no trouble, I just hate seeing you get hurt, it makes me really worried." He said and his face averted towards the ground, trying to hide his growing blush.

     You're heart begun to beat faster and the feeling in your chest intensified. You reached for his hand and wrapped both of your palms around it.

     "Eren, will you lie here with me?" You asked, and his face looked up in panic. You assured him nobody would come in and that it would make you feel better. You guys have cuddled before and broken the touch barrier, and despite you having secret feelings for him, you two have remained best friends, which is why you two don't feel awkward when he lies next to you and wraps an arm around you. He pulls you tight against his chest and you begin dozing off.

"I love you so much, I hope I never lose you." He says to himself when he's convinced you're asleep, when really you were still awake, but you kept your eyes closed, waiting to see if he'd say anything else.

"I was so worried that I'd lose you on this mission. But don't worry, I'll protect you no matter what." He said to himself as his eyes closed and he fell asleep, never to know what he just confessed you and that you were still awake.

"Eren loves me?" You think to yourself, which makes the smile on your face grow wide. You slowly drift off to sleep with the smile still on your face. 

"And I love you too, Eren." You say to yourself before fully collapsing into your deep and dreamy slumber, awaiting tomorrow's surprises.
