3rd POV
Tears flowed down your face. Your bedroom door was locked so you didn't worry about anyone walking in. All you wanted to do was let your emotions out, secretively of course. You couldn't let people see you like this. You were a shadowhunter. But not only a shadowhunter, you were one of the best shadowhunters. You were tough and scary and didn't let your emotions get in the way of any kill. I guess some may call that a killer, but you just called that a job well done.
You could see yourself in the stand-up mirror in the corner of the room that Izzy had insisted you have. You could see your blotchy eyes, your tangled hair, and of course, you could see the locket you were holding. The one he gave you. The thought of him only made the tears fall faster.
He broke your heart and yet you still couldn't get those crystal blue eyes out of your mind. Those black locks that you desperately wanted to run your fingers through, but would never do it in real life. When he had announced that he was gay and had run off with the sparkly warlock, it shattered your heart. He was your best friend and yet, he was the one to break your weak, fragile heart with the flick of his wrist.
The was a knock at the door and you wiped furiously at your tear soaked face. "Y/N? You in there?" You froze. It was him. You took a deep breath when he didn't go away and there was yet another knock on the door. "Y/N. You've been in there all day, let me in."
"I'm fine, now go away. I'm not feeling well." That wasn't necessarily untrue. You didn't feel well, just not in the way Alec may think.
"Well, then let me in so I can see what's wrong and maybe give you some runes that could help." You sighed at his ignorance. Alec was always persistent and it was one of things you loved about him, but at the moment you just wished he would go away. "Y/N, please." His voice had gone soft and almost sounded hurt. You were taken back for a moment and with a final sigh, got up and walked to the door.
You unlocked and opened your bedroom door to see standing in front of you, a concerned Alec. "Y/N? What happened? Have you been crying?" To see his blue eyes so sad and worried, your heart clenched and before you knew it, tears were falling again and you tried to close the door, but his hand stopped you.
"Y/N, tell me what's wrong." You held your face in your hands as you sat on you bed. You couldn't look at him because every time you did, all you could envision was him and the warlock. You heard the door close and felt the bed dip with Alec's weight. "Y/N, please talk to me. What's wrong?" You looked up at him and suddenly, you didn't feel sad but angry instead.
You removed and your hands and glared at the boy. "What's wrong? What's wrONG? You! You're what's wrong, Alec." Alec was taken back by your sudden outburst and you felt a twinge of amusement by it. "I-I don't understand."
You scoffed and rolled your eyes. "Of course you don't. All you were worried about was your new little boyfriend whereas your best friend was drowning in her own tears because she didn't have the guts to tell you that she liked you and then you shattered her heart." Your voice was harsh and by the end of the sentence, you could feel more tears in your eyes but you didn't let them fall. You stared at the ground and jumped when the door slammed shut after Alec.
