My Romeo...

A Day Once Starts:  My Romeo....

A day once starts, and also a new semester............

Carla, a fifteen-year old high school student, was just starting to make new friends in their new semester; she is very popular and has many good friends.

In her eyes, there is only Erick, a sweet quiet gentleman with a loving heart that can make her heart skipped a beat, but along his side is his best friend, Mat, a loner that Erick treats as his little brother, and this irritates Carla. She always has this feeling that they can never be separated and that there is this huge wall that surrounds them, whichever direction she uses that wall is always there to push her farther and farther away from them. The thought that she could never get between them frozen her, like her being Thorn by a hundred sharp Ices, making her tremble with fear. Thinking of that, makes her give-up so, she just always watch them having good memories together in a far away sight.

A month has passed and their cultural festival is coming, both students and teachers are busy preparing for the big event. Carlas’ class picked a role play performance of Romeo and Juliet to be played by....

“Ok, class for our main two characters in the story I will have to pick two of these papers containing your names.” Their teacher picked two rolled papers.

“For our Romeo we have....., Mat and for our Juliet we have........., Carla! Congratulations, you two will lead us to a great performance!”

The whole class applause for the two main characters in the story for they really think that it suits them, well except for Carla, hearing her name partnered with her most hated person, (Mat) shocked her. In her mind, she was already screaming like she was falling in a deep abyss of misery, but this despair stopped when she suddenly notice Erick’s smile, warming her chilled body (because of shocked), and all her fright was washed away.

Their class practiced for their show every single day although, Carla feels awkward to be with Mat, and it also seems that Mat, isn’t progressing very well and suddenly runs away on their last day of practice. The class was very worried on how the show will go on, luckily in the middle of the frantic class a hand was raised, it was Erick. He volunteered to be Romeo to cover up Mat, but everyone questioned him,

“What about the dress? It’s too late for it to be resized.”

“Mat and I have the same size.”

“What about the lines, and the act?”

“Mat is always practicing in our house, so I am very familiar with Romeo’s character.”

After hearing this, the class agreed Erick to be Romeo in the play.

Carla, feeling disappointed, knowing that even at home they met, still very much feels delighted with the choice, for she gets to be with Erick the whole day, without ever feeling that there is a wall between them.

“Good afternoon, everyone we, class 1-B, will perform one of William Shakespeare greatest play, Romeo and Juliet.” Carla waiting at the backstage was freaking all over. Erick noticed it and smiled at her “Do not worry Carla; I will always be here to support you, so smile for me ok?”  With Erick’s words, Carla’s spirit lifts in happiness.

(Romeos’ line is just made up by me)

“Romeo oh Romeo, where art though Romeo?”

“I ‘am right here, and will always be with you, my fare lady Juliet”

Those words are what Carla wants to hear the most, if only the line is addressed to her. But then again, she was really happy that those lines were said to her by Erick.  The play was a success and the whole class celebrated.

“Carla?” asked Erick; it was the first time that Carla heard Erick told her name,

“Y...y...yes...?” replied Carla,

“The play was wonderful, you did great up there! It was nice being with you; I hope to be partnered with you again. Thanks for everything!” Erick told Carla, and waves her goodbye...

“Goodbye my Romeo...” she said, for in her heart she knew that that day would never come again...
