Amethyst Everett stood at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. She'd always wanted to go in, but, she never dared, in fear she'd get expelled. Since it was her final year at Hogwarts though, she decided that she'd go in at the very end of the year.

"Ever going to go in?" The familiar drawl of Draco Malfoy sounded behind me.

"At the end of the year." I replied as I turned to him.

"Seriously? I was only joking." He said, his eyes wide.

"Yeah. I've always wanted to go in there. Why not?" I said as I started to walk back to Hogwarts. "Come on, we're leaving for Hogsmeade."

Draco didn't bring the subject back up until we were sitting in the Hogshead pub. "Do you have a death wish, Amethyst?" He questioned.

"What?" I asked as I sipped my butterbeer.

"A death wish!" He exclaimed. "You must have one if you're even considering entering the Forbidden Forest."

"Oh, that. No, I don't. I'll be fine. I'm a skilled Witch." I said before getting up to get us more butterbeer.

"There are giant—and I mean giant spiders in there. Centaurs who shoot arrows at you and my Father said there may even be some trolls!" Draco said once I returned to the table.

"Well, I don't think there are any Trolls. They'd have wandered out by now I reckon." I said.

"Well, one did come in the Great Hall our first year here didn't it? It had to come from somewhere." Draco finished his butterbeer as I finished mine. "Come on, let's go to Honeydukes before we head back to school."

"I guess you're right." I said as I slung my bag over my shoulder. "But I'm still going in."

"Ugh!" Draco groaned as we left for Honeydukes.

"Draco! Draco! Wake up!" I whispered loudly as I shook Draco awake.

"Hm, what, huh?" Draco said as he awoke, rubbing his eyes. He sat up quickly once his eyes focused on me. "What are you doing in here Amethyst?! This is the boys dormitories!"

I rolled my eyes. "There is nothing in here that I haven't seen before, Draco." I said.

"What does that even mean?" He asked.

"Never mind that, just get dressed and meet me in the common room in five minutes." I gave him a mischievous smile and headed to the common room.

"Ok, why are you waking me up in the middle of the night?' Draco asked once in the common room.

"I'm going into the forest tonight." I said.

"I thought you were waiting for the end of the year!" Draco yelled.

"Keep your voice down! And it is the end of the year! There are only two months of school left." I said.

"You should wait until the last day!" He exclaimed as he slumped into a chair. "No matter when you do it though, why are you waking me up?"

"Because you're coming with me." I smirked.

"What?! Absolutely not!" Draco yelled.

"Draco if you keep yelling I will yank your tongue out!" I sighed. "And yes, you are coming with me. Because you have an unreasonable fear of the Forbidden Forest and I'm going to show you that there's nothing to fear."

"If there's nothing to worry about then why is it forbidden?" Draco questioned.

"Because, Hogwarts doesn't want to be liable if an inexperienced Witch or Wizard gets hurt in the forest." I paused. "That's why I waited until my last year here, so I'll be experienced."

Draco stared at me. "You've rehearsed that line, haven't you?"

"Yes." I stood up. "So, are you coming or not?"

Draco took a moment to answer. "Ok." He sighed heavily. "But, if I die, I'll kill you."

"Seems fair, come on!" I grabbed his hand and tugged him out of the common room.

Draco looked longingly back at Hogwarts before turning back towards the Forbidden Forest, of which we were standing in front of. "Amethyst, I really don't think we should do this." His voice quivered slightly.

"Draco. Stop being a baby. You're usually walking through the corridors all big and bad and now you're acting like a child." I said, slightly irritated.

Draco looked at me. "Well, Amethyst, if you must know, there is quite less a risk of me dying in the corridors than in the Forbidden Forest."

"Well, Draco," I mocked. "If you're to scared then go back. I don't need you to accompany me." I retorted and started walking into the forest.

"Wait, wait! I'm coming!" Draco said as he jogged after me.

"I'm glad you decided to join me. Trust me, it'll be fun." I said as I pulled out my wand. I whispered: "Lumos!" Draco did the same.

We walked for hours and hadn't seen anything remotely interesting.

"This is boring." Draco said.

"We've barely covered any ground, Draco. Be patient." I responded.

"But—" Draco started but was cut off by a thunking sound. "What was that?" He whispered.

"I don't know, but, let's keep moving." I whispered back.

We resumed walking and we heard the sound again, multiple times.

"Ok, that's it, let's go!" Draco yelled as he held out his hand to me. "Come on, Amethyst! Let's Disapparate!" He had to rely on me to Disapparate because he never passed the Disapparation tests. For some reason, he was horrible at it and always Splinched himself.

"It's nothing, Draco, honestly. There will be sounds in the forest, creatures live here." Just as those words left my mouth, something whizzed by my ear and there was a thunk behind me. I raised my wand towards the sound: an arrow was stuck in the tree that was right behind me.

"Centaurs! They've been trying to kill us this whole time! Come on!" Draco was frantic.

"Ok, ok. Let's go." I said as I turned around. But, before I could grab Draco, he yelled.

"Ah! No! GET OFF ME NOW!" He yelled. A centaur had grabbed him from behind and was pinning his arms to his side. Draco dropped his wand as he struggled to get free.

"Silly human children come to play in the forest?" The centaur said and laughed. "You should've stayed away like you were told, now you are to pay the price."

I pointed my want at the centaur. "Petrificus—" I started to cast a spell on the centaur but it took of before I could finish.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no!" I whispered. "This is all my fault! Accio Draco's Wand!" His wand flew into my hand and I Disapparated. Or rather, I tried to. We'd walked from Hogwarts to the forest. I'd forgotten that you can't Apparate or Disapparate on school grounds.

"Damn!" I yelled and started running towards Hogwarts. I needed Dumbledore's help.
