"Lilah, you're making it way harder than really is!" Brent said while laughing hysterically at how hard I fail. "All you do is scare them into the corner so that they are trapped!" He repeated for like the 50th time. I'm really glad we are getting along, he is my new best friend.

"Saying it is much easier than doing it, hot shot," I said raising my eyebrow. "Why don't you actually show me how to do it?"

"Fine, hand me the damn net!" He said determined. With his first try he caught 4 minnows. "Ah ha! Loser!" He threw his arm up in victory and all the minnows fell out of the net and onto him.

"Oh my god, Brent! What the fuck there's fish everywhere!" I practically screamed and started to walk away. He's so stupid oh my god.

"Get your ass over here! You need to learn to touch fish!" He said while bending down trying to catch the baby fish.

"In your dreams," I remarked and went back to the register. I noticed a small radio sitting under the counter. I picked it up and started searching through the stations. Every single station was country. Brent suddenly sprinted over to me with huge eyes.

"Don't you dare change this, this is my jam!" He exclaimed while singing and dancing around the shop. He closed his eyes and starting doing the moonwalk, then he ran into a display of lures. I started laughing hysterically, while he just rolled on the floor laughing.

"What are you guys doing? What happened?!" Aunt Shirley yelled over our giggle fest.

"Nothing just your dumbass son cant dance!" I said while still laughing hysterically.

"Hey! He gets his dance moves from his father!" She said while giggling. "Clean that up and then go take your lunch break!"

Brent quickly shoved all the lures into a basket and set it on the display. I grabbed my lunch and his lunch out of the mini fridge under the counter.

"We eat lunch in the back of the shop, it's kinda nice actually," he said, walking out the back door. We sat down at an old, red picnic table right behind the store.  It was actually pretty relaxing back here. There was a beautiful lake behind the shop, so that fishermen can stop by, by car or boat.

"So Lilah, why are you here exactly?" Brent asked while peeling the crust off of his sandwich.

"Basically, my parents babied me a lot, and I mean a lot. They gave me no freedoms, and pretty much chose my friends for  me. My three best friends were family friends that I've known all my life. They were the only people my parents allowed me to hangout with. So yeah, I guess you can say I was quite the loser. So one weekend my parents went somewhere for my dad's work, so I figured I'd have a party. I invited about 20 people, which turned out to be like 90. Lets just say I almost burnt my house down that night. I was grounded for like 6 months after that and sent here." I said while sighing and looking down at my phone while casually scrolling through my twitter feed. "I just felt like I always had to be perfect for them, you know? Of course, as soon as I do one bad thing they disown me," I said while rolling my eyes.

"Well, that's complete bullshit. I have parties all the time. Yeah, they may be different from your kind of parties, but we still get drunk and stuff," He shrugged while pretty much devouring his bag of chips.

"You have parties?!" I pretty much yelled. Man, Brent and I will definitely get along.

"What kind of teenager do you think I am?" He asked while laughing at my excitement. "Actually I probably should have told you, I'm having a 'get together' tonight after the carnival, you should join. Harry will be there.''

"In that case, I'll just chill in my room, thanks," I said as Aunt Shirley came out the back doors towards us.

"Lunch breaks over, back to work! I need to get home to the boys and Charlotte!" She said frantically and running towards her truck.  We make our way back inside when a few fishermen come to buy worms.

"You know how to catch worms?" Brent asked, teasingly.

"I'm not as stupid as you think, I know worms come in containers dumbass." I say and grab three boxes of worms for the men. This job isn't all that hard, really. Most of the time its just me and Brent. I wonder when 'Harry' is coming back. He said he was coming back later so he should be here any moment. Wait, why do I care if he comes back? He's just rude anyways. As if on cue, Harry walks in with only one other guy with him. The other guy is hot too, southern boys are HOT. The other guy has bright blue eyes and blonde hair. He's so cute I just want to give him a big hug and squeeze him to death.

"So Brent, when were you going to tell me about this new employee?" Harry asked while leaning on the counter so that he had a better look at me.

"Harry, this is Lilah. Remember, I told you about her?" Brent said quietly like he didn't want me to hear him. Wait, hold up. He told him about me? Shit, now the whole town probably hates me.

"Wait, you told him about me?" I pretty much yelled. I feel bad that I sound so rude right now, but I could careless.

"Yeah, I did Lilah. Now that I know you, you're nothing like I said you were," Brent desperately said. I know he's truly sorry and that he actually likes me. I'm glad someone does. Harry makes eye contact with the mystery boy. Not just the casual contact,  like continue the plan kind of eye contact. I'm actually frightened to know what they're eye contacting about.

"Hey, um Brent? Can you show me where the chug bugs are?" The mystery boy asked. I'm guessing Harry wants me alone again. Great.

"Niall, you buy chug bugs every other day. Do you really not know where they are? I don't want Harry to do another rude thing to Lilah," Brent said while giving Harry the stare. I'm curious now, and determined. I will cuss his ass out if he does one more rude thing to me. As you can see, I don't take bullshit.

"Actually, I'll be fine Brent. Go show uh, um, Nick where the curd birds are," I said while shooing them off.

"It's Niall by the way," He smirked down at me. "And its chug bug not curd bird, cutie."

"Whatever," I said while rolling my eyes. Brent finally left with Niall and Harry just stared at me. Is he going to say something? He looks so interested in every move I make. "So, um, you got something to say?"

"Lilah," He sighed. "Look there's this carnival tonight and I feel really bad about what I did earlier. To make up for it how about I take you to the carnival? I mean its in town, and I could show you around," He said while blushing and looking down. He looks so cute when he's embarrassed.

"Yes," I said without even thinking about it. Lilah, you're an idiot why did you just agree to that?

"Good, so I'll pick you up at 7?" He smirked and looked down at his wrist as if he had a watch on.

"Sounds good," I said blankly. He got Niall and waved to me when he got back into his truck to leave. He is hot and I mean that was kind of sweet of him to offer to show me around and to take me to the carnival. Maybe a date with Harry won't be so bad after all.
