Steve Rogers - Captain America

"Wait!" Loki yelled. "Actually, I do want something." He says. Fury pauses, and turns to look at him. "and that would be?" He prompts impatiently. Director Fury is not the most patient man in the world.

"To speak to the human you call Shay."

We all turned to look at Shay, who's brow was scrunched together in confusion. "Why?" She mused aloud.

Fury nods. "Fine. I will send Agent Elrend in to see you." He turned and walked out of the room. Shay rolled her eyes and got up, walking over to Natasha.

"Nat, can you pop my shoulder back into place before I go?" She asked casually. My eyes widened slightly. She dislocated her shoulder, and was just attending to it NOW? She was, as she would say, pretty badass.

"Don't scream." Natasha said bluntly.

"Why would I-" Natasha jerked her shoulder back. Shay exclaimed a certain choice word that made my eyes widen in shock. Bruce started laughing, but Thor just looked confused.

"What is a mother-"

"Don't say it!" We all cried. "You might not like to know." Shay said, smiling.

Just then, Director Fury walked in. "Ms. Shay." He said in his usual monotone voice. "You're up."

"Ms. Shailene Elrend." Loki says as Shay enters the room. "That is I." She says, trying to mimic his tone and accent. He raises and eyebrow and gives her a look. "Please don't. Its an extremely terrible imitation." He said.

She shrugged and walked up to the glass cage, arms crossed, legs spread. Her shoulder length black hair swished slightly as she stopped in front of his glass prison. "You wanted to speak with me." She states bluntly. He nods.

"Yes."

"Why?"

He sighs, and walks up to the glass. "You interest me." He says.

"Oh no." Thor mutters. I look at him, alarmed. "Why 'oh no'?" I ask worriedly. Natasha shushes me, and I return my attention back to the screen.

She raises an eyebrow. "How so?"

"You're different from the other mortals that my brother has come to love." He says. "You do not seem as petulant as they, nor as feeble-minded or weak."

"Thank you?" She says in a question like manner. "I'm not sure if I should take that as compliment."

"Why wouldn't you?" He asks me, looking generally curious.

"You just basically insulted my entire species." She says smartly, making all the people in the room chuckle. "Again, I'm not sure if I should take it as a compliment."

"But, getting back to the point. I don't think you asked to speak to me just to feed me your bullshit compliments." She deadpans. I smile widely at her sarcastic and straightforward tone. He chuckles. "Yes, quite different." He says to himself.

"You've got quite a mouth on you, Agent Elrend." He turns back to look at her, she shifts somewhat uncomfortably.

"I long to feel them on my own." My eyes widen. "Did he just...." Natasha trails off. She shivers slightly. "Sorry Thor, but your brother is really damn creepy." Thor only nodded weakly, his head in his hands in shame. I felt sorry for the tall Asgardian.

"I wanted to offer you a deal, Ms. Elrend." He says.

"Be the queen for my new empire. By my queen, by my side, when I rule this precious Earth." He says.

"I want to wed you." He says, pressing up against the glass. "I want to be the first and only man to ever bed you, to be the first to see you wake every morning, to be the only one to hold you and to kiss you, and taste your sweet flesh and that sharp tongue of yours." He says.

The command room is in complete silence. Shay looks stunned, and thoroughly disgusted and creeped out.

"Please say yes." He pleads. "Um, no." She says immediately, her voice as sharp as a knife.

"That, was the most creepy ass bullshit I have ever heard in my entire life." She says, continuing. "And that's saying something, I've met Tony Stark."

I chuckle, along with Bruce and Thor. Natasha just shakes her head, smiling widely. Even Fury manages a soft snicker at Shailene Elrend's words.

"You will be mine!" He yells after her as she hurries from the room, looking sick.

"Whether you choose to or not!"

"We should go find her." I say, moving to the door. Everyone in the command room, minus Agent Hill, move to follow me as I open the door.

A lithe, black haired figure runs right into my chest, head bouncing off of my nose painfully. She falls to the ground on her butt.

"Shay, are you alright?" I ask worriedly, helping her up.

"Lady Elrend, I apologize for my brother's behavior." Thor says seriously as Shay stands. She give him a reassuring smile. "No, you have nothing to apologize for. But can I ask you a question?"

"Of course Lady Elrend." He answers solemnly. "I owe you that, at least."

She takes a breath and asks sarcastically. "Are all Asgardians as creepy as hell?"

The room explodes into a cacophony of loud, roaring laughter. The look of disgust on Shay's face and her sarcastic tone, and the surprised, slightly awed expression on Thor's face make us all laugh to the verge of tears.

"L-Lady Elrend." Thor stutters hesitantly. "I do not know how to answer that." He says truthfully. She grins, laughing. "It's alright Thor. I was only messing with you."

"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce asks as we settle down into chairs

Shay snorts. "Speak for yourself Dr. Banner." She mutters, making me laugh lightly. Bruce smiles apologetically. "Sorry." She waves a hand dismissively.

"Loki's gonna drag this out. So Thor, what's his play?"

"He has an army called the Chitauri, that non of Asgard nor any world know. He means to lead them against your people. They win him the earth. In return, I believe, for the Tesseract." Thor says.

"An army. From outer space. Fan-friggin-tastic." Shay says sarcastically. I turn and smile at her. She catches my eyes and smiles back. I can't seem to stop smiling right now, but when she turns away, I'm able to peel the ridiculous, clown like smile off my face.

"So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for." Bruce says.

"Selvig?" Thor asks incredulously.

"He's an astrophysicist." Shay replies. "He's a friend." Thor says, looking guilty, sadness shadowing his eyes.

"Loki's got him under some kind of spell, along with one of our own." Natasha puts in. "Clint." Shay whispers, sadness flickering over her eyes. Its gone almost just as soon as I notice it. The look was so fleeting, I almost believe that I imagined it.

Almost.
