Rachel woke up with a headache and rashing wrists from the ropes she was tied in. She looked around while squinting her eyes adjusting her sight to the dim room of a seemingly abandoned building. She struggled to break free from the bonds but her headache just kept her pinned down.
"If you tried enough maybe you could break your hands and escape." A deep voice echoed through the room. Her vision traced to a man sitting in a chair with his legs propped over a table. He cocked his gun and pointed it at her. "You wanna stop doing that?" He irritably asked. "You wanna stop doing anything? Huh?" he asked in a much pressing tone.
Rachel halted. She heard mumbling over her shoulder; she checked and saw Chloe leaning against the wall with her arms on her back tied like she was. She'd been crying. You can see it in her pale face glistening in tears and sweat. Her low rasping cries were tired. She'd been awoke before Rachel even opened her eyes. Rachel sighed desperately.
"Please don't hurt us." Chloe wailed. "What do you want? Do you want money? We can give you lots of money if you let us go. Just... please." The captor doesn't seem to care about Chloe's offer.
He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and pressed it between his lips. He lit it with a zippo lighter and began smoking it. Rachel was just observing him. She looked back at Chloe who was glaring at this guy. She probably killed him in her mind a thousand times already.
He pinched the smoke butt away from his mouth and blew a cloud of smoke unto Chloe's face, provoking her. Chloe inflamed. She stormed and yelled at him helplessly, just tightening her ropes more. He gagged her shut which infuriated Rachel. "Hey! Don't you touch her! If you lay a finger on her I swear." Rachel warned him. "What?" the guy hollered, filling the room with angry echoes. "You getting brave now?" He mocked, pushing Rachel's head with the end of his gun. Rachel responded with a grunt. He went behind Rachel and knocked her out unconscious.
Rachel woke up with her nape feeling numb. She'd been unconscious with her head hanging forward. She lifted her head and looked towards Chloe, only to find her gone. "Oh no no no no Chloe." What had they done to you? She thought to herself. Her jaws were clenching with every thought of what might have already happened to her bestfriend. He must've taken her someplace else. She thought. Or maybe they...
She stopped herself from thinking about it. I'm gonna find you Chloe, I promise. She tried to unsnag the ropes but she can't. It's too tight. Every second she is not out of these, is a greater chance Chloe could be dead. Hell she could've been dead by now. No! She convinced herself. She tried to fight the idea but she can't. Without enough hope, she couldn't break free from these binds. I just got back from whatever happened two months ago and I'm surely not gonna die in this stinking place! She assured of it.
Rachel gasped at the sound across the room. It was a snore. She thinks the guy they're with a while ago is asleep. She wanted to make sure, she tried using her eyes—her fancy glowing eyes. She focused her sight across the room where the table and chair were. She tried squinting her eyes, tried blinking hard, but nothing. She even calmed her breaths. She sighed. She can't give up. Not right now when Chloe needs her.
A sound of a metal clanked came from outside the room and it made Rachel even more worried, more beads of sweat rolled down her temple. They're doing something to Chloe and she knows it. The jangle of the metal just reassured her that the guy was actually sleeping. She struggled with her ropes once more, this time she could feel her skin getting scraped. She didn't mind though, her anger and frustration made her insensitive to any more pain she could even feel.
