6/9/17, 9:21 P.M. ~ Song of the Night: Hurts Like Hell, By: Fleurie ~

Write a story about two people who care deeply for each other but who, for whatever reasons, move on and away from each other:

~Let's Begin!~

As much as she wished it would, the world didn't end for Katherine when he left her. It sure as hell felt like it, at first. She was the storm, and he was the weatherman. He'd been blown off course by another storm.

A storm that had been more interesting.

How unfair it'd been for her, that she'd have to be the one to end it. How unfair it was that he'd made so many promises that he didn't keep.

"I love you." He'd say. She believed him with her whole heart. She shouldn't have lent it all out. She'd never gotten it back.

"You're with another girl. I can't." She'd been a fool to believe that it'd be this easy.

"I just broke up with her. It didn't feel right. I love you." She'd given in. How easy it had been for him to entangle her soul within his hands.

He held it tight and when he'd had enough, like she knew he would, he threw it to the ground.

As was love.

The next year passes slowly, thoughts of him drifting in and out like driftwood on the beach. Everyday was like a do-over of that night. The night where he'd crushed her spirit. The world dimmed. The world was dim.

She'd stay up every night, curious as to what his thoughts were now. She knew they were probably full of lust after the other girl. There was always another girl, always.

She was never it. She was never the one. She'd always just be plain. Stuck in love with a brick wall, never to talk or see him again.

And how heartbreaking this would be for the rest of her days.

~

Her heart was torn out of her chest every time she heard your name, and her soul crushed when they mentioned her. The girl who was better than her. The girl who'd been able to capture his attention when she'd longed for it.

How easy it was for her to forget that she wasn't supposed to love him. She was supposed to move on like a normal teenager. That's what they did, right? They kissed, and they told. They'd love, and they lost. They lived, and let live. Yet, why couldn't she let him go?

Why can't she let him go?

What a depressing start, amiright?

I might do a couple more tonight. After all, this is my new profile. :^)
