Chapter 14- I want Answers (Kyle's and Sophie's P.O.V)

Kyle's P.O.V-

I was looking at my phone reading some news when I hear Venessa scream. I quickly get up and run over there. I really hope my mom didn't get into a cat fight with her. I rush over and see Sophie and Amber standing in the doorway. Sophie helps Venessa up who is on her knees and pitching her nose that I think is bleeding. Eric rushes over and brings Venessa out of the room but before they leave he tells my mom to call him if she has questions. Sophie looks a little angry but I try to ignore it. I give Amber a kiss on the forehead. Btw I told mom about our relationship when it started so she isn't surprised or anything. Mom goes and sits at her dest looking at the papers Eric had. I guess he left them here but I doubt that's his only copy. Sophie walks up to mom and tries to read the papers but mom quickly puts them in a drawer and locks it before Sophie can see them. Sophie looks super pissed but calming looks at mom and says,
Sophie: "Mom, you and Kyle need to tell me what I'm the world is going on. Now." Mom puts her head in her hands and sighs. In a raspy voice my mom says ok.
Kyle: "Hey babe do you mind going into the hall until we're done talking?" I look at Amber with pleading eyes. She nods and walks out closing the door silently. Then I walk over to mom at rub her back, she looks up gratefully but tired.
Kyle: "Grab a chair Soph." She grabs a chair and sits down on the other side of the desk.
Sophie: "So, what the heck is going on?" She says very directly, I can tell she's forcing herself not to yell. I guess it's a twin thing but I can feel her confusion and frustration. I feel kinda bad for her, I know we would have to tell her sometime but now. It seems to early but Eric came back so we are forced to tell her.
Kate: "So honey you know your dad left because of another woman and because he is a selfish reck. Right?" Sophie nods and I see her satisfaction from getting answers but the thought of our dad still hurts her. Well not just her, all of us. My mom continues.
Kate: "What you don't know is what he did to me and Kyle before he left." My moms eyes start to get glassy but I know she won't cry in front of Sophie. She pauses and then continues.
Kate: "I was reading Kyle a book on my bed and your father comes in yelling at me for no reason. He kept yelling about how I put to much funds in a part of my company and started rambling about how I was going to make us loose money. He snatched Kyle and threw him on the ground. I starting cry and yelling at him to get away from Kyle. He punched me over and over in fr- front of Kyle." I fee so bad because she starts stuttering. She takes a deep breath before continuing.
Kate: "He told me about his affair and I told Kyle to run but Eric slammed the door and locked it. He then came over to me and started telling me how much better Venessa was and she could actually make money while I can't. I realized then he didn't care about me. Only the money." 1 single tear rolls down moms cheek and I look over at Sophie. Sophie has an identical tear rolling down her cheek. Sophie gets up and hugs mom then she looks her straight in the eye and in a very quiet voice asks,
Sophie: "Is that man out there my father?" My mom looks down and looks up and nods. Sophie stumbles back and after a few seconds she runs out.
Kyle: "Let's go home. Wipe your tears of while I get Sophie." In a weak voice she says ok and I jog out. I see Sophie running around asking people where he is. I grab her shoulder and she looks at me with pitiful eyes than hugs me.
Sophie: "I can't believe you didn't tell me Kyle. I will always be here for you." She tries to run away but I stop her.
Kyle: "Please don't go looking for him now. We still have things to tell you. And there not that good." She looks at me weirdly and runs off anyway. But I don't think she's going to find Eric. I think she's going to forget.

Sophie's P.O.V-

I run out of her office so I can forget what they told me. I wanted to find my dad at first but when Kyle told me there was more something inside me flipped out and I just ran. Amber was running after me but had heels on so she just made it to the elevator before it closed.
Amber: "I'm sorry for whatever happened, but please don't run away from me." She said with those stupid puppy dog eyes. Ugh.
Sophie: "Ok bestie come here." I open up my eyes and she hugs me. I step back and look at her.
Sophie: "Did you know?" She looks down.
Amber: "Yes." She says quickly. How can I be mad at her though. She had no business telling me and I need to respect the decision she and Kyle made to not tell me. Well I can be mad at Kyle but not Amber.
Sophie: "I'm not mad at you, just Kyle." I say. Amber looks at me with that strict mom look on her face.
Amber: "It was a very touchy subject Soph, can you blame him?"
Then I say like a jealous freak,
Sophie: "He told you." I feel bad but is it really bad to feel a little hurt? Amber looks down with a frown.
Sophie: "I'm sorry Amber look let's go get ice cream with Gabby." She looks at me and nods but then looks at me with a concerned face.
Amber: "No Sophie I know what your doing. Your going to smile and act like your good when your not. After ice cream where going to my house and where having a sleepover to talk things out." I roll my eyes and tell her ok. The elevator opens and I look around to see if I can have get a glimpse of my dad but he's not here so I keep waking. We drive all the way to my house listening to Katy Perry songs. When I listen to KP I always feel stronger for some reason, maybe it's because she talks about women power or just because I like her songs. Wherever the reason is I like listening to her.
After 15 minutes we get to my place and walk over to the new neighbors house. I knock on the door excitedly and I don't why but I feel really happy to see Gabby. Her and Jay walk out and Jay winks at me. Gabby and Amber laugh while I glare at them.
Sophie: "Are you guys done? I wanna get ice cream." They laugh a little more and we get in Amber's car.
When we get there we order. I don't pay attention to what anyone gets except Gabby because what if she's sad one day and needs ice cream, well then I know what my friend wants.
Gabby: "Oreos cookies & cream please." She told the person behind the cash register.
After eating our ice cream and talking we bring them home. I see 5 missed calls from Kyle and when we start driving away he comes out and tells us to stop but Amber doesn't listen to him and turns the radio up. We get to her house and her parents aren't home like always. We go into Amber's room and by now it's almost 8 so we put out pjs on and sit on her queen sized bed.
Amber: "I'm giving you an opportunity to say and talk about whatever your feeling about. So please talk and use this opportunity wisely." She says in a professional tone which makes me laugh a little and I start talking.
