PROLOGUE
I was hiding in our basement. Afraid that something or someone would show up in an instant in the darkness.
I brought a pen and paper with me, just in case I got bored.
But what or who am I hiding from, exactly?
Today was my mother's second marriage, and I will have two step-siblings.
I do hope my life wouldn't turn into a Cinderella story and that my siblings would be kind.
I guess they are, to be honest.
Oh no! They're knocking on the basement door!
They're looking for me!
Wait.
It's my step-siblings!
Do you know how absurd and hilarious it is to be writing every single thought you have on paper while witnessing it yourself?
Oh goodness gracious wand of Fairy Godmother! They opened the door!
They're peering into the darkness, looking for me.
I could make out a knife held tight in they're wet, glossy hands.
"We know you're there, dear Rovile."
