Unknowingly, Crystal had found herself in the middle of a cosplay convention. Why? She had received a tip that a certain being would be at the event.
Intrigued, she had went along telling herself that she was only there to check that he wouldn't cause any trouble. He was already a problem to the Matchmaking Service, although a nagging thought kept telling her otherwise.
Her thoughts were brushed aside when she heard familiar voices. Upon turning towards them, an exasperated sigh left her lips. Cupid and Lila were in the sea of colourful characters... dressed like cupids. Cupids with big, fluffy wings and heart shaped arrows.
Glancing away, she settled against a stall. They hadn't seen her and she wanted to keep it that way. Who knew what would happen if Cupid saw her?
"Having fun?"
Crystal's head whipped robotically to meet with blue eyes.
"You're dressed very discreetly, Cal." she mused, trying to think of a reason why Cal was here too, as she noted the overly fluffy wings.
"Don't even ask... Cupid's idea, not mine." he shrugged tiredly, as he eyed his brother and Lila with some melancholy. "Mino here by any chance?"
"It's not what you think!" she retorted, irritated that Cal could have caught on so quickly, and surprised by how she had reacted.
He raised a perfect brow. "And your attire?"
She cursed under her breath.
She hadn't meant to pick her current choice, but she had thought that everyone had to dress up to enter. Looking down at herself, it was a mere coincidence that she looked somewhat like a Greek hero with her tunic, breast plate and fake sword.
The sudden sound of a loud, charismatic laugh travelled through the area, causing both cupids to look.
A rather tall, dark and horned man was baring his chest, a loincloth hugging his waist. Perfect white teeth flashed visibly at the group of people taking pictures of him.
"Well, that's not a scene you see everyday," mused a voice.
Crystal mentally willed herself to keep her composure as Cupid and Lila came into view.
Cupid grinned wickedly at Crystal's costume. "Wouldn't expect you to be here. Accompanying your boyfriend? And you're theme coordinated!"
She watched as he looked back and forth between her and Mino, nodding in approval. It irked her to see him so smug and to latch on to the assumption.
"Be quiet, Cupid!" Lila whispered, sensing Crystal's irritation.
Although, as if by chance, Mino's eyes connected with the group, his gaze wavering before landing on Crystal. A sly smirk graced his lips before he excused himself from the sea of people.
"Cupid, you idiot-!"
"Hm, Theseus...? How fitting." Mino drawled as he walked up to Crystal. Before she could react, Mino had tied a red string to her right wrist. "Lucky I brought some red string with me. Now we really look the part."
"Wait, this is absolutely unnecessary!" She found herself spluttering which only caused Mino's grin to widen.
"Wouldn't want our little hero getting lost in the labyrinth, would we?"
