I woke up and saw the cat Gus Gus on my bed sleeping at my feet. I sat up and picked him up. "Hi Gus Gus!" I cooed. I put him on the floor and he ran out. I walked to my closet and got a cropped gray long sleeved shirt with black shorts. I got some black and white shoes and my dream necklace. I'm really good at hair so I braided my hair. (The outfit above) I walked out of my room and saw mom eating chips watching grey anatomy. She always cries during the show. "Mom?" I asked laughing a little. She jumped turning around. "Oh Alexa you look good today I'm just watching my show." She said wiping her tears. "Mom you know you can cry in front of me." I said. "I-I know I just don't like too." "Ok well I see you chose chips for breakfast?" I said. "Y-Yeah I am just wanting some chips." I laughed and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a pop tart and some water. I ate it and grabbed my bag. "Mom I'm going now!" I yelled through the apartment. "Ok bye love you oh wait! Go to Aunt Rachel's house after school!" She said. "Ok bye!" I walked to school and walked in. I have a lot of friends in school. Including my cousin Bailey. She goes to my school. She's only 2 years younger then me. I walked to my locker when my friend Lily came up to me. "Hey Alexa!" She greeted leaning on the locker next to me. "Hey Lily what's up?" "Oh nothing just wondering are you going to my families Christmas party in 6 weeks?" "Ok first I don't know and second why ask me 6 weeks from now?" "Well o don't know just wondering." "Powell I've been invited to a lot of parties so I don't know I'll probably go to all but it depends." I said closing my locker with my books. We walked and talked when we ran into Bailey. "Hey Bails." I said. "Oh hey Alexa public school is kinda fun homeschool was boring." She said. "Yah I guess so but I would much rather do home school but mom said it probably wasn't going to happen. She wants me to be out there." I said throwing my arms up doing some sort of rainbow motion with them. Lily and Bailey laughed. "Oh that's my class room I gotta go bye Lily Bye Alexa!" Bailey said running into the room. I waved and continued walking. "On well I think I should head down my hall I'll see you at lunch!" Lily said before running down the opposite hall as me. I walked in my class room and I was greeted. "Hey!" I said sitting down at my desk. "Ok class we have a test today and this will determine your math grade so do well." Mrs. Angel said smiling. She is literally an Angel she is so nice and sweet. She headed me my test. I finished it and handed it up to her. "Ok class its time to stop ill grade them while you guys can draw or even talk just softly please." She said. I looked over at my friend Brooke. "Hey Alexa!" She said. "Hey Brooke your coming over for a sleepover this weekend right?" I asked. "Yeah I asked my mom and she said yes." She said. "Ok cool if you just take the city bus to the park across from my house and come on over." I said smiling. "Oh and don't worry my mom had the idea of a sleepover so she won't be bothered at all." I explained. She smiled and nodded. "Ok stop talking class I have your tests done so I'm going to hand them out. Some of you did great and some of you not so much but that's ok!" She said smiling. She looked at me and Brooke when she said that so I'm hoping I did good. I get the test and I got a 75%. I freaked out. I calmed myself and continued my day.
After school
I opened Aunt Rachel's apartment door. "Aunt Rach I'm home!" I yelled. "Hey cupcake did Colleen tell you to come here?" She asked hugging me. "Yeah."
Rachel's POV
"Yeah." Alexa replied. Colleen's husband Josh went off to Korea. He was drifted into the us army and she has had depression problems ever since so Alexa spends the night at my house a lot. "Let me call your mom." I said picking up my phone. "Hey Rach!" She said. "Hey Colleen is Alexa spending the night at my house tonight?" "That would be wonderful thanks Rach bye!" She said hanging up. "Ok come on Alexa your staying here tonight." I said taking her hand and to her room. She has a room in my house it's that bad. "MATT GO GET SOME FOOD IM BUSY!" I yell making Alexa flinch a little. "OK!" I hear him yell back. "Ok I'm gonna be downstairs trying to talk to your mom.
Alexa's POV
I put my bag on the bed I had inAunt Rachel's house. I went to my closet and got out some more comfy clothes.

I walk downstairs to see Rachel, "Colleen the kid doesn't really have mother I'm her mother!" "NO COLLEEN EVANS IF YOU TAKE HER THERE I WILL ADOPT HER MYSELF! IF YOU CANT TAKE CARE IF YOUR KID SHES MINE!" "A-aunt Rachel?" "Yes Alexa?" "I'm going for a walk." I said. She nodded. "COLLEEN I'M ALL SHE HAS YOU DON'T EVEN TAKE HER TO SCHOOL SHE WALKS!" I heard as I walked out the door. I'm going to spend that night and Aunt Jessica and Uncle Chris' house. I ran to the park crying. My mom is a monster. I thought to myself. I walked back to Aunt Rachel's house. "Aunt Rachel is it ok if I stayed with Uncle Chris?" "Sure is it ok with them?" I nodded. I walked to my room got some clothes and my hair things. I walked out with my bag and Aunt Rachel drove me to their house. She waved as I got out of the car. I knocked on the door and Aunt Jessica opened it. "Alexa are you ok?" She asked. My eyes were puffy and red from crying. "Y-yeah I'm. Can I stay at your house for the night?" "Well of course." She said welcoming into her house like I was her own child. I wish I was.
