15. Past Part 1

"Angel, Angel, Angel" They were shooting from the room.

"Coming," Veronika said.

"Angel?" I said and raised my eyebrows. Veronika shrugged as if nothing.

"This orphanage was small and with no funds four years back, It was about to shut down. At that time, Veronika came here in the form of an angel and we are here now. So. Children call her angel," The sister said. This information amused me and I felt proud hearing this information as it proved my colleagues wrong. We went to the room.

There is a big box, which covers half of the room covered with pink color gift wrapper. The sister opened the gift. All children crisped in excitement seeing different sports material like volleyball, throw ball, cricket equipment, badminton, and others.

"Veronika and Dev it's so nice of you," The sister said. They smiled in return.

Dev whispered something to Veronika to which she nodded.

"Zee, Come on baby let's go," Veronika said. Ya Veronika has adopted Zee she said about her and her naughtiness to me.

"Mamma I want to stay here," She said pouting.

"No baby we will come other day and you have a surprise waiting at home," Veronika said scrunching down to Zee's level.

"Okay," Zee said sadly. Zee said bye to everyone and the three went off.

We also said our greetings and went out.

"Zee, where is your jacket," Veronika asked Zee. They are ten steps in front of us.

"It's inside I will get it" with that Zee ran inside.

Veronika turned towards Dev glaring him and said "spill"

"What?" Dev asked.

"You guys are blackmailing Tanushri without caring to inform me," Veronika asked Dev angrily.

"We know you will say no for blackmailing, so we didn't say to you" Dev argued.

"I am not in a mood of arguing but don't drag it and also make sure Zee shouldn't get involved in this" Veronika sighed.

'Why Zee will get involve in blackmailing Tanushri' I thought. This is all confusing.

"I had made a background check on Tanushri and she is involved in drugs," Dev said.

 I shocked by this news.

"Then you guys should really stop blackmailing her," Veronika said. Before Dev could say something Veronika shouted Dev's name "DEEEVVVVVV" pointing her finger towards flat tire and glaring him.

"Oh shit I forgot to get it repaired," Dev said.

"I am tired, I am booking a cab," Veronika said.

"I can drop you guys" I butted in before she booked the cab. 

Veronika's and Dev's apartment are opposite sides. So, Dev went with Kartik, Veronika and Zee came with me.

Zee was in her dreamy land in few seconds leaving Veronika and me for a long drive.

"Dance was really good," I said.

"Thank you"

"You had long black hairs and blue eyes while you're dancing?" I asked.
