Chapter Ten - Tick Tock Goes The Clock
"Bloody hell," Liam muttered loudly as he and the boys scrambled to my side. Bloody was right. Taylor's face was covered in the red substance as he tried to blink it away, his mouth agape. His eyes went wild, like he was searching for something, someone. I dropped to my knees and lifted his head onto my lap. He groaned, squeezing his eyes shut and letting out a slight sob."Taylor! Tay, look at me, look at me!" I cried, gently slapping his face. His voice quivered and he sounded like a little kid as he stared up at me, tears sliding down his bloody cheeks.
"Char, Char, I don't wanna die. I don't wanna die..." he wept, his lower lip trembling. Time seemed to slow down in that instant, a loud sob escaping from my lips. Harry dropped down beside me and carefully lifted Taylor's bloody shirt. A small, red hole, leaking blood out of his left side, right between his ribs. Harry closed his eyes and cursed.
"ZAYN, CALL 911!" I yelled. Zayn was already screaming into the phone, telling the ambulance to come faster. In about two minutes, a loud siren was heard and paramedics were sprinting towards us. I looked down as they were running and noticed Taylor had gone unconscious.
"TAYLOR. TAYLOR, WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" I screamed, slapping his face even harder than before. His eyes did not open. The paramedics pushed me out of the way and began to work on him. Harry gently helped me up and hugged me tightly as I wept into his shirt, my hands covered in blood. Andy ran his own red stained fingers through his hair, tears slipping out of his eyes as he rocked back and forth in the sand, a little farther from Taylor. I turned to look at what they were doing to my brother. He had a neck-brace on, his shirt was gone and replaced with a large white bandage, and a oxygen mask was on his face. Vic came jogging down the beach, his mouth wide when his eyes landed on Taylor.
"WHAT'S GOING ON? WHY IS MY SON---TAYLOR, WHAT HAPPENED?! WHY ISN'T HE ANSWERING?!" Vic roared, attempting to push through the paramedics as they carried Taylor on a stretcher towards the ambulance car. A large man put his hands in front of Vic to keep him from getting any closer.
"Sir, we're going to need you to step back."
"I'M GONNA NEED YOU TO GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY. THAT IS MY SON IN THERE." Vic yelled, pointing at the ambulance. I saw one last glimpse of Taylor before the back door slammed shut.
"Sir, we're going to do the best we can to help your son. I need you to calm down," the paramedic ordered. Vic ran his fingers through his hair and turned around, cursing loudly. He ran back towards the house and I heard his car zooming down the street in pursuit of the hospital.
"Char, let's go." Liam called. I nodded but ran to Andy, whose head was now buried in his arms as he wept.
"Andy, come on. You're coming with us," I commanded, grabbing his forearm. He pulled away, shaking his head.
"No. No way,"
"Andreas, you are coming with me. That was my big brother that you saw being towed away. My only brother. You are going to get in that car," I spat in his face. He stared up at me, still shaking his head.
"Char, you don't understand...I can't--"
"Fine. Fuck you, do not ever speak to me again." I growled at him, spitting on the ground next to him and then sprinting to Liam's black Range Rover. I climbed inside, not even bothering to look back at Andy, and buried my head in Louis' shoulder as we drove to the hospital.
