Chapter V

Junashri

I walked of behind Randy as he led me to this clearing in the woods. 'Why here?' I pondered. I guess I'll figure out.

"Alright. So daggers. You know the anatomy right? You know like the hilt, blade, etc?" He asked.

I nodded. He looked at me as if with concern. Then he smirked.

"You're a shy one, aren't you?" I, again, nodded.

"Well, you'll have to overcome your fears, Junashri. Being brave is one of the most important skills needed in a Greek warrior."

"Ok. I'll try." I said. Randy then pulled out his dagger and began showing me some techniques. Me, being a fast learner and all, caught on rather well. Even Randy seemed surprised. We practiced until the sun was high up in the sky. Hopefully we hadn't missed anything.

"Well, judging by the sun's position, and your amazing skill, I think practice is pretty much done. Well done, Junashri." Said Randy. Had he just said I was amazing? Ok, Junashri, don't blush, don't blush, don't blush.

"Oh, ok. Thank you, Randy." I said.

"Nah, don't mention it. So I believe the way out is........this way." I followed him and we trekked forward. I suddenly heard rustleing in the bushes. At first I thought is was nothing, until I heard a piercing screech. I knew what it was immediately: basilisk.

I drew my dagger, as did Randy. We stood, back to back, and watched the ground. This would normally be uncomfortable, but since we could be seriously injured, it didn't matter. One, two, three, four slithering creatures emerged from the bushes, their mouths wide in a hiss. The two of us stood really still, making sure not to make the things mad. Suddenly, one snapped at my arm and bit harshly. It stung like millions of poisons injecting at once. I sliced the basilisk in half and it crumbled to dust. Randy turned around and saw my arm. He gasped and pushed me away from the remaining three basilisk. Everything began to grow fuzzy. I heard loud hissing. Probably of them getting blown to dust. The last thing I remember is Randy infront of me and being lifted off the ground. Then, it all went dark.
