...Just gonna add a bit so no one can really read the spoiler until ... they really want/can. So the story will begin now...
Everything froze. There was no cold. There was no heat. There was only motion and hardly any of it. Everything was surrounded by her. Allison. Everything froze as I watched her fall. I didn't remember breathing as it happened. I was only able to break my gaze from her once she was in Scott's arms.
That's when I could fell the weight of it all, falling on my knees. I stared in almost complete numbness at the ground. That's when I was reminded.
It had been a few hours since then, and the sun was rising. I stood in front of Bree's apartment door, feeling a heavy heart. Everything was over. The oni. The nokitsune. The fighting... Allison...
I felt my chest become heavy as I remembered Allison's words to Scott. She was in the arms of her first love.
Bree suddenly opened the door and looked me over. "Isaac? What happened?"
I paused, looking over her face. I tried to speak, but nothing came out. I lowered my head and tried to speak again. "You know how we're werewolves, and our lives are dangerous?"
Bree nodded.
"I was just reminded how dangerous our lives really can be." I paused, taking a deep breath. "Allison died."
Bree paused. "I'm sorry." She lowered her blue eyes. "I know...," she cleared her throat, "I know you two were close. Almost dating."
"But that's why I'm here."
Bree locked her gaze with mine.
I stared into Bree's eyes, remembering how we met. "I remember when you first came to Beacon Hills." I let out a small laugh. "I remember our first date."
"Our first kiss," Bree said lowly. She took a deep breath. "Why don't you come and sit, Isaac?"
"When I first came here." I paused, looking at her.
Bree did the same.
And I went on. "I still love you... My first love."
Bree lowered her voice more. "And I still love you."
"Even... Even after what I did to you?"
"You were only trying to protect me. If you hadn't pushed me off the rooftop, Deucalion would've killed me." She smiled, shrugging. "He even still thinks I'm dead. I owe you, Isaac. I know you were upset because I wasn't angry when you left me. I wasn't because I understood."
My eyes widened slightly. "You did?"
Bree nodded. "You didn't like that I was in danger as long as Deucalion knew I was alive. You couldn't show your face to me because if Deucalion saw you coming here, he would hurt me."
I closed my eyes tightly and kissed her forehead. "And I'm coming here now."
Bree gently placed her head on my chest. "And I'm wondering why. Was it because of Allison?"
"Only because she reminded that our love is something worth fighting for." I held Bree tightly as I kissed the side of her head. "I want you to know that I love you, and I will always love you."
Bree held me. "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too." I sniffled as I pressed myself against her. "I don't ever want to lose you. Never again. Are you angry?"
"No. Because I've been waiting for you."
I kissed her several times, feeling tears run down both of our cheeks. I had a loss and a gain at the same time. I loved Bree. I missed Bree. And Allison reminded that Bree was my first love. Bree was the one I fought for. Bree was the one I was coming back for.
"You don't have to wait any longer. You will never have to wait again..."
