Alyson's POV

Niall steered out of the airport's parking lot and I looked out the window. The only thing I miss about Texas is the constant warm weather. England has been freezing so far and if it's going to be like that in the summer, then I think I'll spend it in Texas.

Niall must've noticed my longing stare out the window because he clicked a button and all the windows in the car rolled down.

"Better?" he asked and I nodded with a smile.

"So are we staying at your place or getting a hotel room?" Niall asked.

"We could stay at my place, I guess. You know, if my room is still available." I answered.

"Why wouldn't it be?"

"I don't know. Whenever the kid moves out, the parents usually transform it into a mini gym or yoga room or something like that." I explained.

"My parents didn't." he bragged.

"Yeah, well my parents are different." I mumbled. At least my dad is...

"Hm?" he asked.

"N-nothing." I stuttered. "Oh, um, turn here."

He drove down the road and I rolled my window up. My house was the last one on this dead-end street and I really hoped that it wasn't messy inside. I don't want Niall to think my house is a trash-hole.

What if my house smells bad? You know how everyone has their own scent but you can't smell it only others can? What if the scent of my house is horrible? I mean, it's usually clean and no one's ever complained about it before but what if it really does smell? Niall's gonna think I'm absolutely disgusting by the end of this trip.

"Right there." I pointed to my medium-size house.

"I like the blue shutters." Niall said when he opened my car door for me.

"Thanks." I hopped out of the car, Niall slamming the door shut behind me.

I felt a bit unsure of what to do as we walked to the front door. Should I knock or just walk right in? After all, it's my house too, but am I even still welcome?

"Um, let's go through the back door." I told him and he nodded.

I pretty much always walk through my back door. I don't really know why, but it's just become a habit over the years. I thought I'd be the gentleman this time and I opened the door for Niall.

"Alex, you're just so sweet!" Niall said in a high-pitched girlie voice at my gesture.

"I know, Natalie, I know." I said the best manly voice I could conjure up. Niall burst out laughing and I laughed along with him. Just his laugh alone could get you to laugh your heart out.

"Niall, shh!" I scolded. "My dad might think the Joker is robbing his house!"

Niall was holding back his laugh for my sake as we traveled through my house. I heard something drop from behind me and I spun around to find Niall looking at his phone on the ground.

"Sorry," he apolgized. "I dropped it."

I nodded and turned back around to find my dad walking into the kitchen.

He smiled slightly at me and said, "Alyson."

"Hey, Dad." I said kind of awkwardly but smiled back. "How've you been?"

"Same old me." he replied. "I see you've brought a friend."

"Yeah, Dad, this is Niall. Niall, this is my dad." I introduced them each.
