Andrew's P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of my alarm - Fire by BTS. I hit the snooze button and sat up on my bed contemplating whether I should get up or not, whether going to class was worth it. I sat still for a good 10 minutes before finally hitting the shower. I quickly wore whatever I could find and headed downstairs to join my family for breakfast. It was an exceptionally ordinary morning.

After having my breakfast I left to pick up my best friend Grace. Grace and I, we've only been friends for a year or so but it's like we've been friends since we were kids. The moment I stepped out of the front door I felt a searing pain shoot through my head, after a little while it got better and I paid it no heed. As I was walking down the streets a gust of wind rushed passed which startled me. It was a calm day and the gust came out of nowhere which I disregarded at the time. Another weird thing that happened as I made my way to Grace's house was that a dove seemed to be following me. I would dismiss this fact if there were other birds in the area but there were none. A little while after I noticed the dove the atmosphere seemed to have started resonating. The sound was eerie, it sounded like bells. Upon hearing these sounds I ran, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. After running for about 5 minutes or so I finally reached Grace's house. I quickly entered and rushed to her room closing the door behind me.

Grace looked at me with a shocked eyes. She asked me why I looked so pallid, to which I replied by narrating the events which just unfolded. She looked at me with amazement and then bursted in laughter. She said she didn't hear any sounds and that it must've been all in my head. She then bought a glass of water and asked me if was on some kind drug. I told her that I wasn't making up the story nor was I taking any drug. She said she believed me but her eyes betrayed her.

Grace then started talking about the college festival and parties and what not. She tried her best to distract me and keep me busy so as not to over think what just happened. Since I was young I tend to over think things way to quickly and create problems that don't even exist. Seeing Grace so excited helped to alleviate the stress I was in.

After 20 minutes Grace and I left for class. As we made our way to college the sky started turning golden in color and the sound of the bells could be heard once again. But this time it was different, this time I wasn't the only one who heard the sounds and witnessed the iridescent sky. You could hear people screaming in the distance, babies crying and people running about. Grace clutched the hem of my shirt all the while gazing at the golden sky, eyes transfixed and filled with fear and wonder.

Then all of a sudden, out of the golden clouds came out what seemed to everyone a mass of energy directly above us. This thing descended rapidly and amidst the frenzied chaos of people the mysterious thing crashed upon the ground. The moment it touched the surface of the earth the impact killed everyone out withing the area around me, with me being the exception. The impact was so devastating that it left a crater where it landed.

I couldn't breathe for a while, nor could I talk let alone move. The bloody sight that the thing left behind left me in despair and melancholy. My best friend was blown to pieces. Her arms were missing like the rest of her limbs, and her head was somewhere outside the crater. A few minutes later I regained my senses and I started calling out for help amidst crying and sobbing like never before. My best friend was dead, the children playing in the nearby park were dead, everyone in that neighborhood was dead. But I was unscathed.
